Positive Reviews:

Solid Design, Sexy Machine

As advertised, its solid design and feel are great. Cosmetically speaking its an awesome looking reel. I was finally able to get out on the ice to test it out. For an ice reel its perfect. If your looking for a sweet reel that's simple and easy to use for jigging, this is the reel. I'm happy with my purchase.

Negative Reviews:

Cheap Drag

Maybe I got a defected reel but the one that I bought had a bad drag. It was not smooth as advertised. For a reel of this price, this reel should have had a much, much better drag. Otherwise than that, I loved the sturdy feel of the reel and all its other features.

Neutral Reviews:

Smooth reel, fun to use

The Black Betty reel is smooth and fun to use. The push button spool release is nice, and the free spool function is beautifully smooth. The drag adjustment is in a bad position especially when wearing gloves. My fingers occasionally bump the drag while reeling with heavy gloves on. The free spool adjusts to the weight of the lure you are using, which is nice. In extremely cold weather though, the line may freeze to itself and not free spool appropriately. Not a bad reel. Have I noticed more fish because of it being a "straight line" presentation? No....the fish don't seem to care the reel is the most expensive one I have in the bucket.
