Excellent protectant for Sunbrella upholstery and breathable foul weather gear

The only repellency product recommended by and for Sunbrella. Restores lasting water repellency to marine canvas. Stops leaks and protects against soiling and water and oil-based stains. Resists mildew formation and UV sun damage. Spray on, let dry. One pint treats 75-100 square feet of marine canvas. Also a great choice for fabric upholstery, carpeting and breathable foul-weather gear.

Great Results !!!!

Scrubbed down my full camper top to give it a good cleaning. Had it back on the same day and then out on the lake. It poured that night and the water came through the top as if it was not there. (sort of expected this) Went to West Marine the next day and the salesperson recommended the 303 High Tech Fabric Guard. Although higher in price than others, I have had good luck with other 303 products. I gave the top a quick cleaning again and let it dry and then applied the 303. 2 spray bottles worth on a full camper top on my 30 ft boat.We managed to go a full day without further rain so the product had good time to dry.
Back out in the boat and rain again at night ................ WE WERE DRY !!!
Easy to apply product, good coverage and minimal odour which did not seem to last too long at all. I will definately continue using this product on my boat camper top. Very happy with the results.

Good product - be careful about shipping

I bought a gallon of this and it arrived leaking all over the box due to being crushed by the shipper. West Marine sent me another gallon, packed exactly the same way despite my strong suggestion they pack it with a lot more padding. It arrived intact and I've applied it to my boat cushions (interior) after cleaning them. It seems to repel water very well. Jury is still out on the effectiveness of the product. I bought the best quality hand sprayer I could find to apply it, but it was difficult to apply a thin layer with this sprayer. Sunbrella recommends two light coats as opposed to the manufacturers recommendation for one coat. I used two coats (probably a bit heavy) and used 2/3 gallon to handle 10 cushions, upholstered only on the top side. Probably about 60 square feet total.

I now use this product every year

A canvas maker turned me on to this product. My dodger and bimini are 12 years old. This delays the inevitable replacement by adding a water proofing element. Need to put on every year for best results. Canvas maker told me to use a small paint roller and a paint tray. Pour the liquid in the tray and roll on. Gives much better application than spraying (do not recommend spraying...it does not go on well and you lose product into the wind). The last two seasons I brought my dodger & bimini home and laid out the fabric in the garage on a plastic paint sheet. I applied the 303 heavily with the roller and let it dry overnight. Once it is dry you would never know you put it on (my fabric is midnight blue). I really like this product.

Used for past 10 years+

I have used the Formula 303 Fabric Guard for over 10 years on my cars convertible tops. I lived in New Jersey and parked my car while at work 5 days per week. The car was garaged at night. Twice a year I would totally clean the top then apply a good wet coating. I sold my last convertible that was 12 years old and the top was still in great condition! I latest car is a 2005 Honda S2000 convertible- top still looks great. I have also used it on upholstered car seats and carpets with excellent results. I'm going to now us it on the carpets in my power boat.

Great product !

I recently bought a used boat with Sunbrella top on the bridge that leaked everywhere. It didnt just drip it ran in. I thought I would have to replace the whole top. A West marine employee said to try 303 and I bought a gallon. I waited for a dry wind free day and applied the product. We didn't get any rain for days, but when we finally did, it was a 1/2 inch. No drips anywhere! Buy it, it is a super product. Great!

Great Product I Will Continue to Use

I used this on my 1987 Sea Ray Amberjack canvas. This is an excellent product! I used to get leakage at the foot of the steps to my cabin as well as various locations in the cockpit. After applying the High Tech Fabric Guard my canvas sheds water like a freshly waxed car. Only one application for the entire 2010 season. I am hoping to get 2 perhaps 3 seasons out of the application as advertized.

AS advertised

Great stuff, follow the directions for best results (seems obvious, but...). I use this product twice a year on my living room couch and love seat since bought new last year. Still looks brand new. This is a real living room, not the one your not allowed to sit in.
My location is worded as such: I will no longer use the phrase 'Jersey Shore' after those MTV snapperheads hijacked it.

Lives up to its reputation

We purchased this product to give a new life to an old Sunbrella canopy on our boat. The pray head was a bit tedious but the product worked wonders. before we applied the 303 our canopy constantly leaked. Afterwards we were dry as can be.

Good product

Good product that appears it will weather the elements. After washing my boat covers in mild dish soap and drying, I applied two coats of 303 over a two week period. I have yet to see how it holds up through a season.

Negative Reviews:

Faulty sprayer

As expensive as this product is, it was disappointing to have the sprayer break on about the 10th pull. Similar issues are noted in other reviews, so I have to assume it is a recurring problem. I put the product in a windex bottle for application. Next time, I will apply with a brush. There is too much overspray. This was the same result with the few pumps I got out of the supplied bottle. At this point, I can't say if the product holds up to its claims. This is just to report the application frustrations.

Not Worth it

After cleaning my Sunbrella bimini, I used the spray version of this product. Put the bimini back up, and it leaks even with a slight dew. I would hate to see the result in a downpour. Moving on to something else.

Wasted Money

Used a quart on 2 yards of fabric 2 weeks ago. Put out in rain to test yesterday. When I got home the fabric was soaked.

This stuff is a ripoff.

16 ounces will only treat 12 square feet. Better get out your wallet, especially if you have to do this more than once a year.

Great product, junk sprayer

Love the 3M product line and this one too. However, I bought 2 of the quart size sprayers and they BOTH broke with about 30 sprays each. Not good when you are covering a bimini. Had to transfer product into another sprayer to finish the job. Have one handy, just in case.

Good protection for Sunbrella

Good for waterproofing Sunbrella. Seems to last all the season. Does not seem to last more than one season though.
