When you're time-trialing, you want to be aero for every second of the race. Unless you're making a technical turn or on the start ramp, your elbows are down and your hands are wrapped around the extensions. This aero tuck position is equally as important for triathletes or track cyclists who race in the pursuit. 3T's Brezza II Nano Aerobars are designed specifically for these specialists.
Built almost entirely from carbon fiber, and weighing in at a svelte 450g, this Di2-ready handlebar offers a staggering amount of adjustment, so you're able to get comfortable -- at least until you put yourself in the pain cave. What is unique about the Nano as compared to the Brezza II, is that the width of the base bar has been sheared down to a narrow 30 centimeters. For riders who spend the majority of their time on the elbow pads, this greatly reduces the frontal area, improving aerodynamics.
The Brezza II is 3T's professional-level offering, so, as you'd expect, every last possible advantage has been pursued. Accordingly, the base bar, extensions, and elbow rests have all been artfully sculpted out of carbon fiber. The carbon-fiber forearm cradles can be set in any of four positions. They move in four increments of 12.78mm, out to 108.34mm. If you put the armrests directly on the bar, the top of the armrest pad is 35mm above the bar. The armrests can be raised 10, 20, or 30mm with the included spacers. There's even an accessory 60mm riser for people who want their base bar much lower than their extensions. The extensions are 350mm long and can be cut down to suit your preference. The range of adjustment is 265mm at the longest to 172mm at the shortest. However, should you find that the stock S-bend extensions are not to your tastes, 3T offers aftermarket extensions in both straight and ski bend.
The drop of the base bar is 0mm and the reach is 160mm. The bars are threaded for internal routing of brake cables and the hand rest can take any 19mm diameter external clamp or plug-style bar-end brake lever. The Brezza II is built to accept internal Di2 wiring. And, due to 3T's extensive experience outfitting Pro Tour teams, it's certified UCI legal, and very, very fast.
The 3T Brezza II Team Aerobar is available in an aerodynamic 30cm width, and in the color.
