Time trialing is all about spending time in the pain cave, but it's a lot easier to suffer through it if you're in an otherwise comfortable position. And while the 3T Aura Pro Aerobar forgoes some of the adjustment found in the Italian brand's Mistral aerobar, there's still plenty of room for fine tuning your position. By blending a supremely aero carbon fiber base bar with aluminum extensions, the price is kept relatively modest, while offering comfort that's on par with any aerobar around.
The Aura Pro aerobar is the simplest aerobar in 3T's lineup, but don't let that fool you into thinking that you're looking at a second-rate product. You see, the extensions and cradles are aluminum, making the Aura Pro slightly heavier than some other bars in the lineup, but the thoughtfully profiled carbon fiber base bar keeps the weight down. The elbow rests are somewhat simplified as compared to the higher-end Mistral bar, but with the adjustability afforded by the extensions, that won't be an issue for most riders. Speaking of extensions, they rest 80mm apart to give you control when you're in an aero position, and they can be extended up to 305mm.
An aftermarket riser kit allows you to raise the extensions up to 60mm and make those adjustments in 10mm increments. 3T's extensive experience outfitting Pro Tour teams is on full display here, so you're getting a race-ready bar, despite the comparatively modest asking price.
The 3T Aura Pro Aerobar is available in the sizes 40 and 42cm, and in the color Stealth.
