Setting the standard for the winter apparel industry, the 686 Smarty Marker Jacket for Men delivers seam-taped, waterproof/breathable protection and features a Smarty detachable fleece liner jacket, giving you the versatility you have come to expect from 686 and the Smarty collection.

The Marker has fully taped seams and was constructed with a custom designed yarn-dye plaid. It includes a left front chest buckle and snap detail, zip off hood, and a fleece Smarty liner is included. Smarty is 686's most popular and established collection, setting the standard for the winter industry. Smarty offers three performance levels - 20k, 15k and 10k, each of which features the world-renown Smarty detachable lining system. 686 is giving you the option to wear the Smarty liner as insulation on the hill or separately to chill indoors. Other features include screen print in the hood lining, 'Vader' front collar venting panels, easy-on and off covered stretch hood panels, and an internal center front zipper flap w/ peached chin guard.

The 686 Smarty Marker Jacket's fully taped seams and high waterproofing will provide the weather protection you need in extreme weather. The style is unique plaid with a chest buckle and quilted detailing. Wear the removable inner liner jacket when the temperature drops, and unzip the collar, chest and underarm vents to release heat when you're hiking.
We’d bet a certain two-plank-related company is pissed about the 686 Smarty Marker Jacket, but what’s new? We’re sorry to say it, but they don’t have anything on this plaid 3-in-1, especially when you get closer and examine the quilt-patterned shoulder patch, buckle detail, and clean two-button storm flap front. Yep, this one has steeze for days, and when you throw in a fully removable fleece liner, endless pockets, zip-off hood and fully seam-taped construction, you know the Marker is aimed at your next powder assault.

Now I can't come out and say the 686 Smarty Marker Jacket is as smart as the 2.5 ply jacket but it is really smart. Waterproof, breathable you know very comfortable but it just has one extra the fleece smarty liner. This jacket is awesome, comfortable and affordable. Plus I think the color ways are awesome. Leave it to 686, they always make things work and look good.

The jacket is up to 686 quality, but my only problem is the loss of the wrist garters. I noticed every 686 jacket that came out this year replaced the under glove over-the-thumb elastic wrist garters with this dinky loop and velcro to "hold the liner sleeve in". The loop ripped on my jacket so the sleeve pulls back, but I'm used to that after 3 previous 686 coats. Now my wrists are freezing like crazy and I'm taking on snow every time I so much as put my hand down on a rough landing. I have considered cutting the wrist garters out of my old coat and sewing them in but I'm lazy. We all need to write 686 letters so next year the coats have wrist garters. My gf ordered a burton and it had them, my boys gf ordered a cheap dc coat that came with the wrist garters, and my boy bought a 686 from last year on sale this year and it still had them. Sucks to buy the best jacket out of the four and have the cold wrists man. Otherwise the jacket is sweet (choc. plaid), get a lot of complements downtown at work and at the resort.

| I have been looking this jacket for a while, until recently Altrec.com has it on sale for the price I can afford it. After I received it and tried it on. I am so glad that I bought this jacket. The color and design is very stylish, and I am sure it will stand out easily on the slope. The fabric is very soft and is way better compare the other 686 snow jacket that I bought last season. All pockets are located at right place. The most thing I like this jacket is the 3-in-1 design which give me flexibility to wear it either on a cold winter day or on a warmer spring day. | |

Just put this jacket through a weekend trip and the jacket is excellent. Upon first inspection i was concerned if the zippers on the hood and coat would be strong enough but they are holding up so far. Other then that the coat has a ton of pockets to store just about everything you can think of. The goggle and cellphone pocket are extremely functional b/c they are on not inside the coat but outside the main zipper on the jacket but inside the snaps so you can get to it quickly but also super secure with your stuff. Loved how high the collar comes up on my face!

Warm and Functional | |

I love this jacket, it is warm and functional with tones of pockets. The liner is great by itself or zipped into the jacket, I'm actually wearing it right now. I am totally from the grunge era so the plaid is right up my alley. As said in the other review the goggle and mobile stash pockets are sweet. Other than the liner my favorite feature is the pass pocket on the cuff. Ya it's a little thing but I don't think I could live without it now. The medium fits me well, 5'9" 38" chest.

Very nicely constructed jacket!!!

| It has all the features a snowboarding jacket should have --- WR 15000mm, breathability 10000mm, wind, snow and water resistance, a lot of pockets to put in everything you need on the slopes. Most of all, the cloth used which is very soft and flexible, not rigid as some jackets have | |
