Despite decades of footwear experience, Adidas is just getting started with snowboarding. Because of that, its designers are keeping it simple for now, with just two men's models and one women's model. The Samba is Adidas' softer-flexing men's model, ideal for park and pipe riding.
The Samba uses a traditional lace system because it's lightweight, easy to use, and easy to repair. The transitional scaled laces and locking hardware provide dual-zone tightening for a custom fit. The Active Heel Harness promotes natural heel flex and holds your heel firmly in place, and the back of the shell uses a 3D Molded Spine for enhanced structure and stability. The removable liner is thermomoldable for a custom fit and Adidas even added recycled coffee grounds to the liner to fight odors. The midsole's shock-absorbing EVA foam distributes impacts to avoid injury or irritation. The sole is made with Continental wet/dry rubber compound for optimal grip in all conditions. Adidas finished off the Samba with a Recco reflector, which doesn't replace an avalanche beacon but can help rescuers find you in an emergency.
