Adventure Medical SOL Escape Bivy Reviews:

Not only for emergencies!

I tour bike and do a lot of stealth camping. I purchased the AMK SOL Bivy as an alternative to carrying a sleeping bag on summer overnights. It has exceeded my expectations and is now a permanent part of my hammock sleep system.

After about a dozen trips I have found it to be VERY warm. On 80 degree or hotter evenings I used it as a blanket...on cooler nights I crawl inside and zip up as needed. Excellent breath-ability so that even under heavy rain and humidity I experience very little "claminess".

It dries out quickly and repacks very easily.

So far no issues with durability. I toss and turn several times each night and was worried the material would not stand up. No tears or stretching at all so far.

It has performed so well that I intend to use it as a shell for my 3 season bag and see how far into winter I can get.

My only complaint, (if you could call it that),is that they don't offer other colors. Sometimes when STEALTH camping visibility isn't really a great thing.

Standard Item

We're outfitting our young daughter's pack and "weaning" (her) items out of our packs. One of the standard things to carry in the mountains - even in summer!
