Adventure Medical Kit

Welcome to Darius Reviews! Today we are looking at this Adventure Medical Kit. You are injured in the field and you need the right thing quickly, and this kit can surely deliver that. Able to be open with one hand fairly easy, the first aid kit is broken into separate categories for the type of injury to minimize shifting around in a one pocket kit: Wound Care, Blisters, and Burns - FirstAid Manual, Medication, and Instruments - Fractures and Sprains - Bleeding and CPR. You may wish to remove the first aid book which comes with the bag to lower the weight of it considerably. It has great information, but in the field, having knowledge makes your weight less. The case has a distinct feel to it compared to other cases to access it without being able to see it.

Now the case it self is a bit water resistant with the zippers and all, but it is NOT water-proof. You do not want all your life lines in a disaster scenario to become wet and unusable. I have the case myself in a ziplock bag to increase my guarantee for it to stay safe in a storm perhaps on a camping trip. While the kit itself looks mostly complete, I would add a few items to make the kit top of the line. Add some travel Eyedrops, Emergency Dental Kit, QuikClot Sports or CELOX Granules for Trauma, (I placed an Unkle Bill's Tweezer in here), and perhaps increase the medication section with your needs (either that you leave near a nuclear power plant and want to carry Potassium Iodate [KIO3] just in case, to adding any medication someone takes daily as back up.) Remember to rotate any of these pills due to expiration dates, and all that come in the pack are not the same dates!

Lastly depending on your strength, how much is in your pack already, and the size of your pack (mine is a 40), this kit can easily eat away at a lot of space and weight in your pack easier than many other kits. This kit is to last 1-8 people up to 14 days so the size and weight is a given. Remember, study the basics in the book if you don't know basic first aid for two reasons. One, in an emergency you won't have time to shift through the book to see how to do something when you or someone else is bleeding to death, and two you'll be able to take out 10% or more of the weight the kit is. This is Darius Reviews, thanks for reading.

Purchased an Adventure Medical Fundamentals kit for an emergency pack. I was impressed with the quality of the components. Most of the bandaging, ointments, cleansers are equivalent to the disposable stuff that comes in prepackaged sterile procedure kits at work (hospital). Which is all that you need in a basic first aid kit. A lot of the components in other prepackaged kits I looked at seemed lower quality. They have pretty good customer service as well. My kit happened to be missing the CPR face shield (the latest guidelines and evidence strongly favor compression only technique so you probably don't need it anyways, but still). I emailed them and they quickly mailed me a replacement.

Everyone needs a First Aid Kit and this is a good one to have. I think the only thing I've ever used it for was a band-aid, so I can't speak to the actual use of anything else in the kit. It all appears to be quality. Great buy, especially if you can pick it up on steepandcheap.

Great Purchase

Great first aid kit for small group outings. The kit contains many of the key items needed to deliver first aid when on an outdoor outing. The kit is well organized, which allows fast access to all the medical supplies.

Contained most of the recommeded items for a Philmont Scout Ranch trek (7 people, 10 days of back country backpacking). It served well on that trek and on numerous other Boy Scout trips since.

The perfect size for a small group

Has all the gear you would need for a crew on a extended stay in areas where professional medical help may be delayed
