Ahnu Elkridge II Mid Waterproof Boot Reviews:

Excellent all-weather boot

Suprised to see so few reviews for this boot as it's honestly the best boot I've ever owned.

I was looking for a good all-weather boot for general use in New York City. Something that would keep me warm in the snow, dry in the rain, and would not weigh me down too much as I do a lot of walking in NYC.

Weather resistance - excellent. I dipped the boot in a Central Park pond around 20F and my feet stayed warm and dry. I walked around Central Park in a blizzard, and my feet stayed warm and dry. I've walked in a lot of freezing rain and my feet stayed warm and dry.

Traction - pretty good. You may still slide a little on black ice, but for the most part traction is really nice with these. I didn't realize how nice it was until I wore my running shoes out to buy some groceries. I nearly slipped about five times on the ice with those things.

Weight - excellent. For the durability, warmth, and weather resistance that this boot provides, it weighs almost nothing. Slightly heaver than running shoes, but not by much. MUCH lighter than the heavy duty boots that provide similar weather protection and support. I can walk around all day in these and my legs won't get tired.

Durability - I've only had them a month, but so far so good. Seems like solid boot construction - metal shoelace eyelets, quality leather, quality stitching, etc.

Breathability - this is where the boot really shines. The waterproof liner is made from eVent which is one of the best materials for waterproof/breathability. Your feet will stay dry in conditions that would otherwise be sweaty.

Comfort - very comfortable. Very little break in period. Good support. I suppose if I walked around in the mountains of Colorado 12 hours a day, I'd need something a little more heavy duty (like the Salamon Quest), but for urban/park/occasional hike use these are perfect and are SO much lighter than their heavy duty counterparts.

Style - I didn't buy these things for style, but I have to say the gunmetal color looks great with a pair of jeans.

Highly recommend these boots. Ultra versatile, and will perform well in nearly every situation.

Great, great boot

Loved these boots the moment I put them on. They just felt right and I have not been disappointed. I've been on several short hikes, three to five miles, and they have been great. They didn't need a break-in period! They are light enough to wear casually and have provided great support for the long days of Christmas shopping I have to endure these days. I also like the way the laces slide easily through the closed loop eyes at the top for easy tying and untying.

Most Comfortable Ever

I've been wearing this often when working in the yard, my woodshop, driving long distance, and climbing trees, but have not had them more than a month. They are the lightest weight and most comfortable I've ever had [thought that about the Keens I had last], while providing good support. I've worn them all day for several days so far and felt like wearing tennis shoes by the end of the day.
