Excellent boot; best of category
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I love this boot except for two things. I think the tongue surfacing material is flimsy and I wish they'd just made it out of GoreTex or Cordura since the stuff that's on there usually cracks after time. I would also recommend a 3/4 heel/ball instep, or a complete footbed. If you go without one your feet will get tired very quickly. Overall, this is a very sturdy boot that can handle about anything you'll run into while traveling in rolling hill country. I run this boot on 195cm Karhu Pinnacles, and you can carve in powder on rolling hills without effort. If you're into hardcore backcountry you'd be advised to look at a much different setup, but these are great for all-around nordic touring off the beaten track. | |

Very warm and tough but hard to dry-out
| Rating: | ![]() |
I tried the boots in minus 30 deg. Celsius conditions last week here in the chic-chocs (Appalachian Moutains-north-east-on Quebec side) and they gave me no trouble with warmeness at all even with a thin layer pair of socks. Great boots. Alpina is trustable. But at the time to dry them-out back at the chalet, I found them tricky to dry because of the insulation inside at the top end of the boots. Apart from that... so far so good.

Great boots! | |

I've had these boots for a couple weeks and have put over 50 miles on them. They broke in easily, they provide great ankle support, and they are very warm. I was out for 3 hours yesterday in -20 and my feet were toasty. They go great with my Rossignol BC-90s. I really couldn't pick out anything to complain about. Buy these boots - you won't regret it!

Why return Alpina BC 1550 boots?
| Rating: | ![]() |
Because they were the wrong size, but boy are they good boots. After sales worked the exchange with limited time before skiing, I am soo glad!

work great | |

| The boots worked good except they hurt my feet at first, but after a few days on the trail they felt great. I love them, only after the break in period. They have served me well and I would recommend them to anybody. They are very warm, almost to warm, but will most likely keep me too warm. Have served me nicely. | |

Great pair of boots | |

| These boots performed especially well throughout the past ski season in a variety of conditions. In Western WA, where low temps are mild, my feet kept warm and dry. I typically do not experience arch support issues but I needed supplementary soles inside these boots to eliminate foot fatigue during longer (day long) outings. | |

Comfortable and fun | |

Great boot for XCountry touring. A comfortable boot straight out of the box- but also has great support and control for focusing about technique. Medium/wide width and roomy toebox. I toured 10 miles before getting my first heel blister (which is really saying something for a new boot...)

| I use these boots with the Karhu XCD 10th Mountain Backcountry Skis and they give me all I need for comfort and maneuverability. I've never had to break them in and the quality seems superb. I highly recommend! | |

| Excellent lightweight boot for backcountry in rolling terrain or flats. Not suitable for really steep slopes and rough going. | |

Pretty Good | |

| I took these boots out for a 9 week research season on the Juneau Icefield. They worked pretty well, but did not retain much heat when i was working in them. my feet from the ankles down went num many times. These are good boots, but not the warmest. These are great for shorter trips, but get a warmer boot if you'll be out for a month or more. | |
