Just fine.

Best if added to a flavored instant meal product to add protein to the dish.

Just like Thanksgiving

Add a package of stovetop stuffing and some dried cranberries - Thanksgiving on the Trail!

OK, but...

It's turkey, it's light, and it's reasonably tasty. But if you just pour water on it and expect to eat turkey you'll be disappointed. It'll be turkey flavored shoe leather. This stuff needs to soak in hot water for as long as you've got, at least an hour. Then it needs to simmer for 10 minutes at least.

I like a hot drink or soup before dinner so I make some extra hot water for the turkey. It soaks while we sip. Then I bring it back to a boil and simmer for a while. Then I add it to whatever dish it's going in. That leaves it still a little tough but much better. Freeze dried beef is worse but benefits from the same treatment.
