Every aspect of Alpinestars Gravity Shorts is specifically designed to do one thing–keep you comfortable while you hammer down tight, sketchy singletrack. This is easier said than done, but Alpinestars has been in the game long enough to know how to keep you safe (relatively) and comfortable while you throw down on your your bike.
Alpinestars built Gravity Shorts with strategically located stretch and vent panels. On the back and in the crotch, spandex panels stretch for an unlimited range of motion. You won't ever feel Gravity shorts bind up while you ride. This also adds to the shorts' durability, because it stretches rather than tears. The synthetic fabric pulls moisture away from your body to keep you dry and comfortable, even in the heat of the summer. Alpinestars also designed Gravity shorts with cooling mesh panels on the thighs that push hot, stale air out and allow fresh, cool air to flow in and around your body. On the back of the shorts, an abrasion-resistant ripstop panel adds durability and protection.
The Gravity Shorts are designed to fit over your knee pads. Dual tabbed hook-and-loop straps at the waist allow you to exactly dial in your fit. The hidden front zip makes it easy to get in an out, and TPR details and printed graphics add a little style.
Alpinestars Gravity Shorts come in Black/White, Blue Marine/Violet, Yellow Fluo/Black, and Red/Black and are available in even sizes 26 to 40.
Whether you are defying gravity off of a monster jump, or gravity is weighing you down as you scratch and claw up a near-vertical slope, one thing is for sure, you must be cool and comfortable while you take on the various challenges that the trail, or lack thereof, may present. The Gravity Shorts offer extended vented panels on the thighs, two-way stretch inserts in crotch area, and a two-way stretch construction on the back of the pants, ensuring you stay cool and well fitted, yet free to move accordingly. The hidden front zipper with a snap closure will ensure that you stay covered up when gravity decides to pull on your zipper.
These shorts are very comfortable. I've used them on several 3 to 4 hour xc and all mountain rides with some road or xc style shorts underneath. They didn't get to hot. I wear padded compression shorts under them for some rougher rides and they work great. The shorts work well with knee pads. They're very durable had some sliding crashes with them on and they've held up just fine. I have not been able to use these shorts at a bike park for some serious all day dh, because the parks haven't opened yet. I have high hopes they will succeed the demanding riding I will be doing when they do open. The Gravity shorts are comfortable durable and look badass!!! Highly recommend.
