Deer Feeder

I have had this feeder for 4 weeks, the deer are hesitate to come near it. the clock doesn't keep the right time so it's hard to know when it's feeding, but it is feeding, & I have seen young does nibbling away at the corn. The price is fair for the product, I would buy another one. Just wished the clock worked better!

Durable

Great product for the price. I have had this feeder for 4 years now and have not even had to change the 6 volt battery. It's been out in the weather 24/7 and has survived 2 bear attacks ( with a little reassembling). It never clogs and spreads the feed nicely.

Negative Reviews:

Too many issues

1. Instructions are horrible.
2. Drum is not pre drilled to put screws in to attach spinner/feeder plate to drum. So you need a portable drill and a buddy to help as the bit can 'walk' as you try and set it in
3. The metal band is a pain and one of the holders for the leg torqued and I had to bend it back in
4. If you use all the leg segments it comes with good luck on trying to fill it up as it goes way too high IMHO
5. No brace feet like on my Moultrie to brace the legs better.Just the poles sticking straight down
7. The camp down band on the top looks very solid. That is one feature I do like
8. The timer is a big pain. You can program it but what a pain.
9. I have no idea how it will work or hold up over time as you can not come back and update reviews here.
10. They did this on the cheap and now I am paying the price :-( Next time, I will hold out for the Cabelas Metal Feeder where you can step up and dump in two different feeds. Just follow other's recommendations on sealing the Cableas deal better and you should be fine. When will I ever learn no to skimp and just buy a better product that may cost more and have tons less frustration?

Don't wast your money

I have had 2 of these feeders since 2006. Over this time I have had to buy 4 replacement motors. The last motor I bought in October 2009 had quit working by December 2009 (spinner plate broke). Right now I have +/-$450 in the 2 feeders, you can do the math. My advice is, spend some money up front because you get what you pay for.
