Easy as pie

I needed these steps for an other-than-hunting purpose: I needed to trim some trees. The tree guys charge an arm and a leg to even go up a tree, let alone trim it. All they want to do is knock 'em down and move on. So I got these so I could do some general limb removal above the reach of my tallest ladder. Starting with a ladder at the base, I was able to trim some of the big branches 45' up, no mean fete. Used a harness I have for offshore sailing, wrapped around the tree. Worked great, I've used the same process on 4 trees so far. Just drill a pilot hole, screw these bad boys in, climb up. Unscrew them as you come down. Perfect. I've already saved several thousand dollars over what the tree guys would have charged!

yup they work

Pretty cool steps. They do work and will self start but I found a cordless drill made things go much faster. The camo color blends in well (too well in my case as I use these to get up into trees that I'm cutting down and they are very hard to see). They hold my 220 plus weight with very little flex. As always make sure you combine these with some kind of safety harness.
