I own a marine electrical service. This crimping tool is one of the best buys that I have done. When crimping large gauge cable, this tool makes the job so much easier then using the hammer crimper. Granted, if you only need one or two crimps done, you may not want to spend the money on this crimper. If you have a lot of large gauge crimps to do, this tool is worth its weight in gold. There is one bad thing with this crimper. There is a shaft that has 2 C-clips on it by one of the handels. For some reason, one of the C-clips came off. I replaced the C-clip ($0.85 at the hardware store), and then the C-clip came off agin. I don't know if the groves in the shaft are worn out or if the shaft is too big for the C-clip. The way I fixed it was to get some stainless steel lockwire (or mousing wire), twist the lockwire at one end, wrap the lockwire in the grove, and then twist it again. After doing this, I have not had any problem with the crimpers. This is a good crimper at a good price.
