Stainless-steel blade resists corrosion and nicking and the dual GRIP is easier on wrists. Overmolded ergonomic handles for comfort. Laser etched permanent markings. Precision ground plier nose. Looping holes.
I have used every wire crimper/cutter out there. For the professional, this is an excelent tool to have in the bag. I like that its crimping action is on the inside of the hinge giving you great leverage to make that large crimp. I have been wiring boats for 7 years and never found tight space limitations with this tool. If the wire was too short for you to crimp with this tool then you should probably replace the wire. Also, the cutter on this tool is great. It keeps the wires from coming apart. I dont understand the poor reviews of this product and think that they were probably made by people who dont know what they were doing. It is a great tool and worth the money.
Wanted wire stripers I could leave on the boat. Trust as stainless these will last with minimal (rust) issues. These have a substantial feel. Probably could crimp leader sleeves in a pinch. Have not owned long enough or used more than for simple wiring to make a full evaluation.
Had other stripers which are spring loaded, nice feature that could make these even better.
Like everyone else I have had numerous crimping, stripping tools that were "not wonderful". Well this is the king, it is beautifully made, top quality, razor sharp, rustproof and stays that way. If I lost mine I would buy another at five times the price.
This is almost useless in tight spaces. The crimping part is inside the handle. Try to do that with just one person in a tight space. It is next to impossible. Also, it lacks leverage to get a good strong crimp. The SeaFit model for 60% less is more functional and easier to use.
It is a nice tool if you are doing your work out in the open. Otherwise, don't waste your money.
