Well-known snowboard goggle maker, Anon, introduced a new line of helmets this year, including some very cool options made specifically for powder-hungry ladies. The curvy Women's Sonora Helmet features a women's-specific design and high performance features to keep you comfortable and protected when you're out shredding. The Sonora is the only women's-specific helmet in Anon's line that has a uniquely feminine shape, with graceful curves that give away its gender. Anon also reserved its silky-soft long-haired fleece lining and ear pads for women, who the company thought would especially appreciate this luxury. But if you prefer the feel of your own favorite beanie, you can make what Anon calls a "Simple Fit" adjustment by removing the fleece lining and ear pads and sliding your head back in with your own beanie.
This helmet isn't all looks and feel, however (though that certainly isn't a bad start). It is one of Anon's lightest weight offerings, with a very low-profile lightweight polycarbonate shell and EPS foam liner. An active ventilation system allows you to customize your level of ventilation by moving a slider at the front of the helmet, so you can keep your head warmer when the windchill is high, or you can air out when you're working up a good sweat. A goggle ventilation channel also keeps your goggles from fogging up when you're getting steamy. And if you can't live without your favorite tunes or your cell phone when you're out on the mountain, the helmet fits a customized Skullcandy audio system that has an ear-pad mic and remote control option.
