Arbor Abacus Splitboard -

Every aspect of the Arbor Abacus Splitboard has been refined to make the splitboarding experience more straightforward and less arduous—giving you more pow-slashes as it enables easy skinning. Loaded with a reclined version of Arbor's System rocker, this board has a full parabolic rocker that mellows as you reach the tip and tail. This allows the outside contact points to firmly engage with snow when you apply pressure. Additionally, this rocker design outperforms the competition (other rockered splitboards) when skinning; a large contact area under the touring brackets aides in climbing. Grip Tech is applied for added bite on hardpack and variable snow; it adds two additional, underfoot contact points to the toe and heelside edges. Placing contact points underfoot improves maneuverability as it establishes heel and toe pivot points, instead of solely relying on tip and tail contacts to initiate turns.

Inside the guts of this beautifully crafted splitboard, a Shaman core composed of ultra-lightweight poplar and paulownia provides a medium flex with high levels of durability.  Carbon reinforcements at the tip and tail infuse strength and pop while you're pushing through turns, launching natural features, and stomping tricky landings. Rhythm walls blend ABS and urethane for vibration dampening while you're riding choppy snow and rough terrain. A Power Ply topsheet adds structural support, and its beautiful wood-grain allure is protected with a Bio-Film coating. Karakoram clips are included; they substantially improve torsional rigidity for a solid ride that feels closer to regular snowboarding.

Lining and Layers:

  • Power plies act like a third layer of fiberglass to structurally enhance the board; this composite layer maximizes return and improves durability

  • Steel edges are 60% recycled material and offer maximum durability and performance

Weather and Wind:

  • Pow system features a medium flex, reclined mountain-twin shape and mountain tips that are drawn out for on-mountain, backcountry and deep snow performance
  • Mixed glassing (triax over biax) provides the best performance for deep-snow riding

Traction and Grip:

  • Grip Tech sidecut makes 4 points of contact underfoot for improved and direct edge control; contact points create heel and toe pivot points for faster, more efficient turning

  • Topsheet features a protective ultrathin finish, made from a castor-bean-based bioplastic, that guards against damage caused by loose bindings and unforeseen impacts

  • Karakoram clips included, binding mounting hardware not included
  • Rocket sintered base provides unmatched durability, wax absorption and speed; stone-ground finish is ride ready
  • Bamboo sidewalls deliver impact durability, edge performance and return
  • Requires the Voile Universal Splitboard Binding Interface to mount bindings, sold separately
  • Karakoram Split Clips offer a solid connection point at tip and tail of board—makes your splitboard feel as solid as a regular snowboard
  • Rocket base(sintered)
  • Shaman core features a blend of Paulownia and Forest Stewardship Counsel certified poplar; core is ultra lightweight and durable—just what you need when trekking up hill
  • Snowboard deck and base colors may vary from online photo
