Positive Reviews:

I'm a fashion forward woman who suddenly found herself needing custom orthotics and not able to wear most of her cute shoes anymore. I really wanted a cute pair of red mary janes for spring and early fall. I have a slightly wide foot, now have lovely full length custom orthotics, and I'm a bit of a tenderfoot. I blister easily. I do not have bunions but I was drawn to shoes designed for bunion comfort b/c they seemed to so soft and comfy. These shoes almost made me cry little tears of happiness b/c I was so relieved to find them! I definitely agree that a half size up is your best bet. I tried the other ballet style archopedico shoes in my normal size 8 and they were so small. I ordered these in a 8.5 and they are perfection. I have a sligtly wide foot but b/c of the give, these feel great and are not tight over the toe box at all. I took out the insole and put my orthotics in and they feel amazing!!! I could wear these with very thin socks but I think they'd be best with stockings or thin trouser socks. I wanted these for "sockless" weather anyway. They are amazingly lightweight. The shoebox felt like it was empty b/c the shoes are so light! They feel like those Isotoner ballet slipper house shoes only with a sole! The strap across the top helps them be more secure. In my opinion, that's better than the ballet flat style. I cannot comment on the arch support b/c I use my custom, but it doesn't seem to me like they are THAT supportive. The ballet flat had a much higher arch support. I do see what people are saying in the reviews about how the ball of the foot area isn't that cushioned. Its not. If that's something you need, then you might not like that aspect. I don't need that though. I need my orthotic to fit so my arch is supported. I also like how soft the inside back of the heel is. No blisters for this gal!!! I think they are worth the price considering the difficulty I've had trying to find shoes that fit the bill for me. I would love to get another pair. I do think, if you have bunions, you would like these. My friend has bunions and she talks about how shoes often cut her off int he wrong spot on the toe box. Because this toe box goes higher over the foot than a traditional shoe, and is so soft and giving, you will find comfort. I think these would also make a great vacation shoe!

This is an incredibly comfortable shoe because of the stretchy fabric & adjustable strap - perfect for those of us with bunions and other issues. I am grateful for the funky animal prints which makes them seem less orthopedic than other comfort shoe options. After buying the brown I also ordered the gray. However, these are not shoes for long distances. I wear mine with orthotics which adds crucial support to an otherwise very thin footbed, so I would recommend adding extra cushioning to the bottom - an easy thing to do. They are perfect for errands, short walks (a mile or 2), air travel, etc.

Had to come back for my 2nd pair! I got the blue this time. I have the floral red that is sold out here (but I don't think it is on Amazon). They are just so comfortable. It's unreal. Order a size up. This color is perfect for wear with jeans! the blue is very nice. I have a more detailed review a few reviews down.

Great shoes. Comfy from the beginning. They go w/so many things and can be dressy or casual. True to size. Only problem for me is they don't have much cushioning on the insole so not great on pebbly or uneven surfaces.

Neutral Reviews:

I was expecting the soles to be thicker; more padding between my foot and the world. These were very thin and weren't supportive at all. And, like another reviewer said, they were too short. I am a size 11 and ordered a 42, which is my normal European sizing but if I were keeping them, I'd worry about my toes rubbing on the front. The fabric and the velcro mary jane strap were super comfortable, and the shoe was very cute. But I couldn't even walk through the house without discomfort because there is just no substance to the sole under the ball of the foot. To be fair, I don't normally wear flats so perhaps that's why I felt they were so uncomfortable. I was seeking a shoe that was light, packable and great for travel which I think these would be if you don't need a thicker sole. The side view of the shoe looks like a normally thick sole, but that is misleading; it's really just molded (curved) up the side of the foot.
