Arc'teryx Kea 45 Backpack Review:

The Kea 45 (formerly Kata 45...or is it the other way around, can't remember, but they are supposedly the same pack) outstanding gear. I put this pack through the wringer. I just returned from hiking the pilgrimage of the 800 kilometers and more of the Camino de Santiago across the mountains and meseta of norther Spain. I trekked from April to June of 2013. Through, snow, sleat, hail, rain, wind, cold, heat, and throwdowns from frustration, this pack took it and is ready for India and China next. I love this pack. Yet, let me share this important piece of information. I am more of the type that likes all my gear inside the pack all out of the way in case a run, tussle, or a climb comes up. I don't like stuff in the way. I could hang my socks on the outside here or there to dry after washing and that was about it. If you like dangling, storing, carrying, and displaying all your household goods, souvenirs, and family trinkets on your pack, this might not be the one for you. This is a go-getter pack. The only better would be the Arrakis 40, and I intentionally did not buy that one because the first time I might have set that down it would be gone, or, travelling through some hovel it might even cost me my life for the worth it would bring in stealing. So, Kea 45 it was. Evenso, I am more than happy with this choice. True love
