Arc'teryx Tecto FL Jacket Review:

Reviews:

When I first saw the jacket at the show I wondered - who the hell is going to buy a jacket with 1 arm pocket.......
That would be me. I typically prefer jackets with 2 or more pockets (I like stashing stuff in my pockets). So this jacket is certainly out of my comfort zone. The cut and fit is fantastic. I own the Beta FL and this fits a tad trimmer in the chest but is cut the same length in front and drop in back.
I like the small #3 watertight vislon zip (it has better pull chords than the Beta FL ). the hood fits nicely over my head but would be tight with a bigger style helmet.
These jackets breathe quite well. I would still prefer pit zips (even small ones) as it really helps get rid of excess heat build up. I like the active shell lining compared to pro shell and paclite. The FL jackets are crazy light it fells like nothing at all and stuffs into a tiny sack (included). I do find that water beads off for a short period of time before the fabric wets out (unlike my pro shell jackets which bead off for wayyyyy longer).
Back to the arm pocket. It holds my keys, my wallet or my cell phone (but one at a time). The zipper can be finicky and does not glide as nice as the arm pocket on my theta AR.
Its a great jacket Overall. Perfect to stuff into your backpack and come out when the weather turns. It is great for running and cycling as well. Not so great when heading out to the grocery store to pick up milk and trying to unzip the shoulder pocket to get your wallet out :-0
