The Men's Theta SVX Jacket is Arc'teryx's toughest and longest length GORE-TEX® Pro Shell jacket. Arc'teryx saying that a jacket is their toughest is like Lamborghini saying their new car is their fastest.... they know durability better than anybody. Built for the harshest weather conditions with a full-coverage drop back hem and articulated shaping for enhanced mobility, this waterproof/breathable shell will shed the elements as you bound around in the backcountry. Arc'teryx insists this jacket is good for "Ski/Snowboard / Alpine Climbing / Trekking", but I maintain that it's best for bounding. So pick up the Theta SVX Jacket and go bound around.
An unexpected storm hits the mountains on your day off, and you're stoked because you have the Arc'teryx Men's Theta SVX Jacket to keep you dry while you ski through the fluff. A waterproof breathable Gore-Tex Pro membrane, fully taped seams, and WaterTight external zippers shrug off the wet, and the nylon shell is so durable that you'll ski in this bad boy for many seasons to come. The Expedition e3d fit leaves plenty of room for layering if that blizzard brings the chill, and a longer length extends coverage when you fall right on your ass in the slippery parking lot.
The Theta also features a StormHood that slides over your helmet with ease, and an extra long StormBrim rotates with your head for total visibility on the slopes. Arc'teryx laminated the hook-and-loop tabs at the cuffs so snow doesn't stick to them, and they seal out that nasty cold front. A drawcord at the hem prevents blustery winds from breezing up your body, and the laminated chin guard won't rub your face raw.

So I got this jacket just to see and guess what? It's the best arcterux shell I have seen! I am 5"10 175lbs and sized down to a small. The small fits must like an alpha sv in a medium. If I was to get a medium I would be swimming in it!! The material and attention to detail is just awesome and the shell just feels good even with layers on. The hood is also amazing with that extra long brim
A have been using this shell for a week in -20C temperatures for skiing and hiking. The material and quality are great and everything is where you would expect it and deep pockets. Combined with the hooded down liner, it is incredibly warm and at the same time light and flexible. The hood is also great for pulling over a helmet. One of the best pieces if gear I have ever purchased. Highly recommend it.
