Can't wait to get it out in the elements

I just got mine in the mail. While it was enroute, I kept wondering if I should have spent the extra $$$ for the Alpha SV. Based on the reviews, I was worried about the length, the room for layering underneath, and the percieved durability of the material (would I be confident in it?). After receiving the LT, my initial impression is pure awe. The jacket is uber-light. While I don't have a scale, I can't tell any weight difference between it and my Patagonia Rain Shadow. But, despite the light weight, the material seems bomber. The clean construction definitely inspires confidence. The fit is perfect. Being 6'3", the back of the large jacket comes down to the center of my butt and the sleeves reach the base of my thumbs, just like a well-fitted suit jacket:) With an R2 fleece and a Patagonia Micropuff vest underneath it, I still had comfortable body and arm movement. The hood adjustments are a work of art. It just sucks down around your head perfectly.

Stupid good | |

| After two months of dry weather in the Sacred Valley near Cusco Peru. We did the 4:30am hike into Machu Pichu to ensure we saw an early day, it rained. And it rained hard. Everyone was wearing PVC ponchos and I had to run back to the hotel soaked to get this jacket. Durring my fun from the Hotel to the group the jacket was breathable beyond belief, kept me dry (although I was mostly soaked already) and was super durrable in the mud and rock. Once we got to shelter my jacket was the first one of the group to dry and once I dried out it kept me super dry for the rest of the day. Amazingly impressed with ProShell while Paclite of others wetted out. | |

The Arc'teryx Alpha LT is an anomaly. It's super lightweight, but also, durable and breathable. I stuff this in the bottom of my pack on almost every trip I take because it rolls down to the size of a sub sandwich, but fights off foul conditions and abrasion. It's got a cool piece of foam in the bottom hem, that works with the underarm gussets, to keep the jacket from riding up while climbing. It's the size and weight of a throw-away rain jacket, but I'll have it for years. And, the fit is spot on with tiny seams, welded pit-zips, and a smooth sliding front watertight zipper.

A Delight | |

| I have used the jacket in every possible condition to do a variety of activities. It has surpassed my every expectation, and I often run my sleeve under the faucet in sinks just to see the look on peoples faces when my arm is dry afterwards. Greatest jacket ever made, my only regret is that I couldn't get approved for another mortgage on my house to get one in each color. | |

"Cost a little, but worth every dime"
| Rating: | ![]() |
| This is a great jacket, well worth the money, allthough it cost a lot more here in Norway than i the Us. Anyway, the solution for air, that you open the zippers under your armhole does not work very well. It would have been better if the zipper where on your shoulders, so that you get fresh air in easyier. Otherwise is it a great jacket | |

Unbelievable | |

| This jacket is unbelievable. Not only will it keep you dry in the most horrendous rainstorms. But it also prevents rain from ever coming while you are outside. All of Georgia is under water right now due to excessive rain and flooding and i have yet to need to where my jacket. Everytime I need to go outside it stops raining. Incredible. :) | |

Highest Quality Jacket!
| Rating: | ![]() |
| This jacket is the best article of clothing and gear that I have ever bought. While this jacket did cost about as much as my first car, the durability and quality are top-notch. I am 5'8", 160 pounds and the medium jacket fits perfectly, sculpting my mere flesh into a timeless piece of Arc'teryx art. Two thumbs up! | |

Nice, but closer to Paclite

| I wrote the previous review some time ago, but have since had problems with the Alpha Lt. Perhaps I was too rough on the jacket, but hey, it's a proshell product from Arc'teryx so that's what I expected I could do. Moral of the story, the jacket started seeing significant wear and tear of the fabric at the sleeves and the gore-tex membrane was peeling away. I sent it back to Arc'teryx and they agreed the product was faulty....I now have a Alpha SV hanging in my closet [...]. This is a much more durable jacket if the half dozen ounces more don't bother you.Cheers,Arc'teryx's boyfriend | |
