Back problems? Get fitted.

Rating:*****

I love this pack. It's got all the features a girl could want in a backpack and it's a nice looking pack. I agree with what has been said in other reviews. But I'm sending it back and here's why-- I have scoliosis and the way this pack fit on my body, especially with a full load was just all wrong. I made all the adjustments I could make, but to no avail. The internal frame, the stays, the belt, the shoulder and adjustments straps just don't work for my body type. A backpack is something you may carry with you for many days and hundreds of miles-- don't take it lightly. If you have back problems or a strange body type, go to an outlet or store where there is a knowledgeable employee who has done lots of backpacking and worked with lots of people and get a pack that is right for you and have it custom adjusted. Your pack will become like a symbiotic life form attached to your body, so it's really important that it fit you perfectly. Also, do some research and ask lots of questions about how to load your pack, particularly if you are short. If you are short, you want the heavy stuff in the bottom and this will effect the type of waist belt and shoulder strap adjustments you need. It makes the difference between walking with stability up the scary ridge or losing your balance and falling to your death.

Awesome pack!

Rating:*****

This pack is the only pack that I could find that has all of the features I was looking for. It is large enough for extended trips with a sleeping bag, pad, tent, warm clothes, etc. It would also work well for long trips abroad. I can't imagine ever needing a larger pack than this. It also cinches down to a much smaller size when it isn't full.

IMPORTANT: There are two difference to take note of

Q. Even though it isn't listed in the specs, there IS a detachable waist pack for day trips. You simply take off the pack lid which has a separate belt built in. This was a big reason I bought the pack. I'm not one for fanny packs but I discovered the belt is long enough that you can wear the waist pack as an purse.

R. The berry color is not as bright as you would think from the picture. It is a very cute deep raspberry.

"This is the most quality and versatile backpack I have ever used, and will not buy another!"

I am a college student and money is tight- but this has by far been the best investment of my college career. I used this pack the day it was delivered. I love the outdoors and I love to travel, and spent a long time sorting through all of the different packs available. I needed a bag that did both and could handle alot of wear and tear- and found it in this pack. This is the cadillac of bags, and it is shown in the details. The suspension system in it is second to none- and great for women of any size as it is fully adjustable. The lid is a convienent day back and hydration compatable. One of my favorite details is the lime green fabric used on the inside of the bag used to make it b

"Spend the extra 50 bucks and get the best pack ever."

Rating:*****
Gotta love this pack. I got the 75, because no matter how hard I try I just can't seem to pack light. Even fully loaded it's like there's nothing there. The designers did a great job compartmentalizing the pack too so that there are plenty of pockets for all the little extras that you have to take but might not use...ie the extra batteries. I love the bottom pocket too. It holds all my sleeping gear perfectly. The top part is by far the best feature, unbuckling to become a little day pack for those quick little jaunts up and down bluffs where you definately DONT want to be carrying the full 75 liters!-at least not with out a line or to little stranded beaches or rivers... DEFINATELY the best

Wonderfully Comfortable Pack

Rating:*****
My girlfriend spent over two hours trying on packs in REI. After trying the various offerings from REI, Gregory, Kelty, and Osprey, she couldn't find anything that fit correctly (I'm quite experienced in fitting packs). I was hesitant to try this pack because of the price, but on a whim I picked it up, packed it, and had her put it on. After setting the straps correctly, she asked me to shift all the weight to her waistbelt. I did so, but she repeated her request. It felt so comfortable that she couldn't feel the difference. You won't remember the great price you got on a pack if it feels terrible 25 miles into a 50 mile trek. If nothing else fits, at least give this pack a shot!

"Rocking pack for the gear oriented, do it all in the same weekend, multi-sporter."

Rating:*****
Took this pack out the day after picking it up from the UPS Customer Center. That name is a lie, it is not for customers, it is a place for customer's misery. Mosejaw did an amazing job shipping this order lickety split, but I repeatedly decide to live in neighborhoods where packages can't be left on my doorstep continuing the thrill seeing lifestyle even into my daily residence - and I keep weird hours. Recieving issues completely mine, not MJ's aside, this pack rocks. Sized right, it fits the ladies perfectly and even fully loaded you're barely aware it's on your back. Quick acccess to the sleeping bag with the bottom zip is key and it's got a plethora of small storage zips to keep arg

"Most comfortable pack"

Rating:****
After spending 2 hours in my local mountaineering store and then about another 3 trying on packs at Moosejaw I walked away with this gem! The Briza is great. I barely felt like i had an extra 45 lbs on my back, all the adjustments make it so easy to relieve pain from the shoulders or lower back. With the compression ties you can really cinch everything down- and avoid looking like a trail gypsy with stuff moving all around. The only thing I didn't like about this pack is the hydration system in the brain. the platty sat a weird angle- bringing back some of the gypsy affect- and it was really difficult to get put in when it was full.

worth every penny

Rating:****
although a little heavier than i would have liked, the pack really is more comfortable to wear and use than the smaller men's bags i've owned. while easy to load, the lack of pockets makes unloading (or finding somehting you didn't realize you'd need) a bit of a chore. the plus side to that being my loads have generally been well balanced and all the weight stays in close to my body. another little nit-picky thing: the water bottle pocket on the detatchable lid/fanny pack thing is too small for a nalgene!! what's up with that?! given the opportunity to buy it again, would i? yes. would i wait for it to go on sale? for sure.

Best Pack - Worth the $$$

Rating:*****
I bought this pack to use during a 2 week backpacking trip though Europe. The construction of the pack is impeccable and fabric is durable/water resistant. I wasn't surprised since this is typical for nearly all Arc'teryx products. The waist belt specially designed for women is very comfortable (must be properly assembled beneath back padding) and all of the straps help to tighten/adequately support a full pack so that it is comfortable enough to haul around for long walks/hikes. I especially like that this Arc'teryx pack has a large inside pocket that is not accessible from the outside of the pack...which is something I couldn't find in other north face packs. Highly recommended!

"Get this pack you can thank me later!"

Rating:*****
This is by far the most comfortable pack I have ever owned. The shoulder and hip belts are super thick and cushy. It holds the weight superbly. It is well balanced and makes skipping down the trail a breeze no pun intended. I have the Briza 62 and even though it is smaller than my old pack I can fit more gear and keep it organized. The material is no joke and heavy duty. The front pocket has a drain perfect for a wet tent or other nastified gear. Removing the top compartment for use is as a day pack is two easy clicks away. I highly recommend it!
