My Adult Security Blanket

Weather snuggling me warmly on some distant hill or comforting me when I have the flu, this jacket and I have done it all. My girlfriend gets a little jealous of this jacket.

Works great as mid layer. Don't do much alpine with it b/c I don't need the another hood with all that I'm wearing, but great for camping/backpacking. I rarely take this thing off in the winter. Soft and comfortable, dries fast, and warm (as long as there's no wind). Fit is right on. Big enough to wear a pullover under, but not bulky. Looking to get a cardigan model to take into the high peaks.

Now, If you'd excuse me, I'll get back to spending time with my jacket. . .

Quality hoody with some fit issues

Although I love the color, feel, and general construction of the jacket, it has a somewhat strange cuff design on the sleeves and waist. It tends to ride up under your jacket as you move about and you can feel it, as opposed to simply hanging by your side. The hood is great for sleeping in, but again is awkward to wear around town due to the hem. I got it very cheap, but again I'm not sure if I'd buy it again. I am a very loyal Arcteryx customer but I think they missed the mark on this one.

Warm and cozy

Great fleece. Soft and warm. Pockets are bit useless, insides are mesh and no draw string at the hem to keep the wind out. But as mid layer under a shell or on non windy days this thing rocks.

I also love them on planes, put the hood up its like a cocoon. :)

Soft but deceiving

The covert hoody is a great jacket for a cold (non windy) night around town or while you are traveling. The jacket is extremely light and soft but not heavy duty or meant for outdoor use. Unless you are extremely loyal to arc'teryx I think you could get the same jacket for less somewhere else.

Nice fleece

Nice looking, fits well, very comfortable fabric. I wish the hood either had a draw string or fit better, as the face opening is too large and no way to snug it up to protect the forehead or cheeks against cold or wind.

Go-to layer for cool weather

Internal zipper flap is poorly constructed and tends to catch and irritate my neck around my Adam's Apple. Also, the lack of a full length zipper flap means that in the wind, you'll feel the penetration and cold zipper.

Another great Arcteryx Product

Lightweight, warm, comfortable. Great layering piece. Improvement would be to add a drawstring.

Neutral Reviews:

I am 5'10, 190, old time large, 34"-35" waist and 44 chest. I bought both the stratos and covert in large and medium...only in America, at Zappos! I wanted a cozy, round the house, non technical jacket. I kept the large, black covert. Really soft and the piping round the edges is very attractive. The pockets zip and have smooth fabric around the zip, nice very nice. Oh ya, I like the fact that Arcteryx subtly uses product placement. Heads up North Face, who places name everywhere. Now critique: even a non tech jacket can benefit from a hem cinch. This one doesn't have one. The hood on the covert jacket comes way too forward. Too much fabric perhaps. The front zip has difficulty rising all the way to the top. It seems to have a kink in the last two inches. Finally, the fit. I could wear the medium but the length was a bit short and the large is swimmingly large. I am often in the middle of large and x large but this company makes a boxy, full cut large. Take it for what it's worth. I kept it.
