You never miss a ski day regardless of the conditions, and the Arc'teryx Men's Fission SV Insulated Jacket is the reason why. A Gore-Tex membrane, fully taped seams, and WaterTight external zippers keep you dry in the wettest weather, and Arc'teryx added Gore-Tex Pro reinforcements in high wear areas for long-lasting durability. Coreloft insulation brings the warmth without the weight, and it leaves the jacket with exceptional breathability so you stay comfortable during intense ski sessions.
An expedition fit with e3D patterning leaves plenty of room for layering without restricting your movement, and a longer length covers your butt even when you bend over. Articulated elbows give the freedom of movement you need when you ski through trees. The insulated DropHood rotates with your head for total visibility, and adjustable cuffs and hem seal out the cold and retain all that wonderful warmth.
The Arcteryx Men’s Fission Jacket is made from only the finest, most durable Gore-Tex fabric, to keep you nice and cozy. Coreloft insulation provides maximum warmth, while still keeping this Arcteryx jacket lightweight. Oh, and this thing has super-cool storage pockets. You’ll probably feel like you’re James Bond when you wear it or something. Probably not, but you'll be super comfortable and warm.

Been looking around at a tons of jacket companies (eg spyder, outdoor research, mountain hardware, black diamond, mountain equipment) and settled with this one because it was light, somewhat insulated, and goretex pro. This was probably the best multipurpose jacket for me. I do a lot of hiking during the winter times and living in NYC, I wanted something warmer and water resistant instead of my Uniqlo Ultra Light Down jacket. Some issues with the jacket, the handles for the zippers, they do need to be thicker/bigger. I don't mind it as much because I use glomitts, but for people just wearing gloves, this can be an issue. Another issue is the front edge of the hood, the string to tighten it bends the edge of the hood and could permanently have a crease in it. It should be made with thicker material so it doesn't warp/bend so easily. Snowskirt is another issue, not a deal breaker for me but I understand why it wasn't included, has to be marketing. If the next version of this jacket includes a snowskirt, I will be pissed =P Size is true to sizing chart. Standing around in 25F with 10 mph winds, feels like 10F, keeps you okay, need to layer inside though (i usually wear a undershirt, a uniqlo long sleeve heattech shirt and a thin sweater from BR), t-shirt alone is not enough. At the dog parks, when standing around, I sometimes wear the Uniqlo jacket on the inside and the fission jacket on the outside, and for me, that's enough and still very light. This jacket along will not be good enough for Iceland or Churchill Canada, you must layer.
