Arc'teryx Gamma MX Hoody -

"I love my Gamma MX Hoody. I have used it for four years in every condition.... from plain old snow, to snowshoeing, to skiing, to hiking in the winter with a shell over it. It's also awesome during the spring and summer months for rainy shower days, hiking, or mountain biking. I love this Arcteryx jacket because it breaths well, is comfortable and versatile, and I can use it year round for everyday use or when I am active. My Gamma has lasted me 4 years and I wear it all the time, so it's for sure extremely durable."

Versatile, flattering and can handle rough weather

I'm 5'6", 140lb and the medium was a perfect fit. On its own, it's not too warm (the fleece lining is very thin). That said, there is enough room for layering. The jacket is flattering and I love the Lantern color (visible even in poor weather). The jacket sits around the thighs, giving them some extra protection. The hood is very large (will easily fit a helmet), but can be adjusted with drawstrings in the back as well as on the sides so that it sits tightly almost as though wearing a cap. I'll be using this as my every-day jacket for cold Swedish winters (comparable to Alaska), as well as for winter sports.

This Jacket Rocks

I was hesitant to buy this jacket given the price tag but I got it anyway. I'm glad I did because this jacket is wonderful. It's warm, it moves with me as I move, and I like the fit. I especially like the sleeve length. Even when I stretch out my arms to reach for something there is plenty of arm length and my wrists aren't exposed to the cold. I haven't had a chance to really run this jacket through the ringer but so far it seems pretty tough and durable. Overall: Good Buy!

warmest jacket ever

Serious warm and breathability, climbed Mt Adams in NH and didn’t sweat while keeping extremely warm. Great summit jacket as well, very packable.
