A mid-weight insulator of heroic proportions, the Arc'teryx Men's Hercules Jacket features high loft shaggy fleece on the inside to capture body heat. Paired with a waterproof, breathable shell it offers warmth for the coldest ski days. The exterior is smooth and exceptionally air permeable, making the Hercules Jacket an ideal layering piece. Shells slide on easy over it and the breathability makes it an excellent choice for climbing peaks or skinning to the top of untouched powder bowls. To further protect from the elements a laminated hem drawcord keeps spindrift from blowing in and no-lift gusseted underarms keep the bottom of the jacket in place so your midriff doesn't get a shocking blast of cold air.

The ABSOLUTELY most Versatile Fleece I have ever owned!!!
| Rating: | ![]() |
| This is my favorite fleece jacket for a number of reasons: it is a jack-of-all-trades fleece that performs very well under a number of applications: 1.- Layering: it is very warm by itself, but there is enough room to put stuff underneath if you need to without making you feel stuffed. And you can put a shell on top if it gets nasty out there. 2. Cut: as you can deduce form my previous comment, it is not quite trim, but it is not baggy either. I am 5'10" and 169 lb, and the front length is below the belt (perfect) and the back is about the middle of my rear, my Hercules is a Medium. So it is not too short and not too long. My Alpha LT shell totally covers this fleece. 3. Although not technically windproof, it still has GREAT wind resistance, and although not technically waterproof, the DWR finish makes it rain proof unless you are standing under a waterfall. The seams are not taped, but it will keep you dry in light/moderate rain unless you are out for a couple of hours. A bit expensive but worth the money. NOTICE ABOUT THE COLOR: I hesitated to order the gray (slate) since I wanted black but this jacket is not made in black. I was gladly surprised to open the bag to find a very dark gray, significantly darker than what the photos show. It looks VERY nice, specially with jeans . | |

The Quality and Style makes you forget the price! I brought TWO.

| I had never purchased Arc'teryx products until I worked with the good folks at Altrec. I first purchased the Gamma SV, which is a great jacket but not as warm. I wanted something warmer, and I was amazed that this jacket is lighter, softer yet warmer. I wore it with a long sleeve base layer in below 20 temps and was not cold. This has to be the Best Jacket Made. It is funny because all of the North Face weares just stare at this jacket. I am 5'11", 215lbs and wear a size 42R sportscoat, and this jacket fits very well in a Large. The sleeves are form fitting, so it works well with thin layers. The body of jacket is loose but still form fitting. I purchased the Cobalt and the Slate jackets. The Slate is a very nice dark blue great with jeans. This jacket fit very well under my Killy ski jacket. The price was a non-factor and I actually forgot it after I opened the package and saw the jacket. It is that good. | |

nice jacket | |

| Nice jacket, but the color of the cactus is really a lot darker than in the picture. I was expecting this jacket to be just as warm as the Mountain Hardwear monkey jacket but it definitely is not. Although, when it comes to water resistance, abrasion resistance, and wind resistance, it smokes any other fleece jacket. This jacket is not considered wind "proof" but it apparently blocks about 98% of the wind. I would consider it wind proof though. All in all its a great buy and I definitely recommend it if you have the money or find it on sale. | |

great, perfect | |

| I love my new Arcteryx Hercules, very lightweight Jacket but at the same time warm protection, slim design, not so heavy and so large, same stretch and shortly design like a Easy Rider Arcteryx Jacket that I have and love, but little less warmer than this. The Cactus color is much more intense than on the product images, less vibrant or brilliant and more darkness green, really beautiful. Simply: all I expected from Arteryx on this piece of gear. Thanks to Altrec, always a good shopping experience, one of my favorites on line shops. | |

| I am 6'3" and thin, and a large fits me very well. It is slightly bigger on the sides (volume wise) than I usually like, but feels and looks good. It is so crazy warm all I can wear under it is a tee shirt, untill winter rolls around. Seems perfect for all but the wettest of weather in Alaska. I will be using it for back country snow boarding insulation on the really cold days. | |

The real McCoy. | |

| Light, versatile and deceitfully warm. I was initially concerned with this soft shell's ability to keep me toasty in extreme cold, but rest assured that this bad boy gets the job done. Its breathability also works well in warmer weather with a t-shirt underneath. I highly recommend this soft shell for anyone looking for a multi-purpose, weather resistant jacket. | |

A Herculean jacket | |

| I paired this jacket with the Arcteryx Sidewinder and by far it is the best layering system I have owned. I also wear the Hercules solo when I don't need the extra outer layer. The soft shell with fleece lining is amazing when paired with an outer layer as it glides smoothly together. | |

Buy it. | |

| This is the most amazing softshell I have been able to find. I needed something windproof and this fit the bill. My R2 and Northface hardshell have been neglected since I received this jacket. The only problem with the jacket is that it is sometimes too warm once you get inside. | |

Think before you buy | |

| The jacket runs quite long and roomy in the torso, and I was taken aback by the poor quality of the zippers. The jacket is incredibly warm and held up well in colder temps, but the weird fit and zipper quality led me to return and try a different Arc'Teryx | |
