Excellent outerwear for hiking and climbing on cool, calm days, this Arc'teryx Maverick AR Jacket has a streamlined profile that easily layers beneath your skiing and mountaineering shells without jamming up your mobility with extra fabric. Like the Arc'teryx Maverick SV Jacket, this one uses a slimmed-down gusseted underarm sleeve construction to enhance your range of motion. Beneath the front zipper is a wind flap to minimize breeze penetration on blustery days, but the Maverick AR Jacket lacks the same wind resistance as the SV--although you shave at least six ounces off on the overall garment weight. This is a great technical front zip jacket for cool dry conditions and it's indispensable when paired with a waterproof shell.

The Arc'teryx Women's Maverick AR Jacket provides an extra-trim fit and the warmth of technical Polartec Thermal Pro fleece. Arc’teryx achieved this jacket’s sleek design with their famous lamination technology--instead of sewing, the Canadian company glues in its pockets, zippers, collars, hems, and cuffs. This creates leaner, more functional and durable garments. Which is one more reason why the ladies love the Maverick AR Jacket—you enjoy extra warmth without any fugly bulk, plus it layers neatly under shell and puffy jackets when the weather really gets gnarly.

I love this fleece! | |

| This is my second Arc'Teryx AR fleece. My other is several years old and I wasn't ready to replace it but when I saw this price and tried on the color, I had to have another one! The picture shows the color pretty true - it is a very mellow sage-green. This fleece is Extremely warm, that's why I love it. It's not windbloc, but you don't always need that feature. This is probably too hot to layer for an active sport like ski/snowboard/snowshoe but it is perfect for breaks during those activities or for less-aerobic activities like casual ice-skating, casual walk, etc but when you need to be really warm. This is also very flattering - it has a slim fit. You will love this fleece! | |

Love it | |

This jacket is great. It's very warm (though not windproof), and comfortable. I love how light it is for the warmth it provides. Other fleeces I've had were always much bulkier. Arc'teryx stuff also fits the female body much better than any other brand I've purchased. If I layer underneath it I can wear it out here in New England as an outer layer during the winter. The DWR is good enough to repel snow and rain as long as you aren't in a storm for too long. The pockets really warm my hands up. And I love the zipper guard because I no longer catch my chin as I zip my fleece up. It's expensive but worth it.

Arc'teryx Maverick Women Small

| I bought this fleece as a replacement to my Monkey fleece from Mountain Hardware which was stolen and was saddely back order when time to purchase a new one. So I gave the Arc'teryx Maverick a try and was very pleased by the product. The fit is excellent, adjustable at the waist to assure a great confort. It is a warm fleece and quite resistant to wind. It's my second skin, indoors and outdoors. I havn't tried it yet under heavy exercice, my belief is that it will be too warm as a under layer but appropriate when I stop. A great choice I recommend. Pros: Fit Warmth Sealed pockets zippers Cons: Front zipper not sealed | |

"Soft, warm, flattering"

| I wanted a fleece that wouldn't pill on the outside and look cruddy after one season, and though I just got this one, I think it will fit the bill nicely. The fleece is like nothing I've seen before on the outside - a tighter fleece weave - while the inside is soft and fluffy. It's really warm and works well under the Beta AR shell which is awesome for the cold, wet spring days we're still getting. Arcteryx fits women really well, streamlined but not too tight and the reddish saltillo color I got is great. Pricey, yes, but you get what you pay for and this should stay with me for many years. | |

"The most useful fleece anyone can buy"
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I am in love with the Arcteryx products so it is only natural that I give this jacket a perfect score but I love this jacket in particular. It is soft, really warm and fuzzy and feels less like a jacket and more like a big cuddly blanket. It layers well under a shell but alone is incredibly useful in a variety of weather and conditions. I have given almost all of my other fleeces away since buying this one - I just wish I had this one in every color! | |

A mainstay of my layering system
| Rating: | ![]() |
This jacket has exceeded all expectations. It does a marvelous job of blocking the wind and wicking moisture away from my body. I expected to use it primarily as a layer under a shell but I have been pleasantly surprised to find that it works well on it's own even in very cold winter conditions. Even when wet, the inside felt dry. Felt a little small at first but it loosened up after the first wash. Very comfortable, practical, technical jacket. Nice cut too.

| I grew up in Minnesota which translates to the outdoors. I am very particular on the product and store I purchase from. I saw an ad for the store on a bus and was dying to check out the place. I felt like I was in Grand Marais, MN. Some girls love shoes and some bags, I however, love my jackets!! Great happiness came between myself and this jacket, plus a lot of warmth like on a cold day sipping some hot coco!! | |

"Soft and very warm." | |

| I adore this jacket! The vanilla color is beautiful and not too white. The inside is lined with soft fleece, making the jacket even warmer than I'd expected. The cuffs are quite fitted to the wrist, making it a perfect mid-layer that doesn't get in the way of my outer shell and mittens. I layer it under my Arcteryx Sidewinder for wonderful warmth on cold ski days, and wear it as a casual jacket too. Highly recommended - worth every penny! | |

Great fleece | |

| This fleece is warm and very comfortable. I think it would be great alone or for layering. I did not keep this fleece only because the length was a little longer then I expected, because I wanted to layer it under the arcteryx gamma sv(which is a super jacket) and it was a little longer than the gamma sv. I would love the exact fleece in a little shorter length. Also the waist is taperedd to fit a female body. | |

| This jacket is warm and comforable and I love the fit and color. I have long arms and a long torso and both the sleeves and body are perfect! The body tapers in slightly at the middle to give it a great feminine look. Very well made and cool fleece fabric (zoom in). My only 'wish' would be for more of a wind-stopper. Love it! Will definitley buy more from Arc'Teryx & Sierra Trading! | |

Not very durable... | |

| I love this brand, and especially the structured fit on my somewhat petite frame. Unfortunately, though, this particular fleece was pilled and ratty looking after 2 months wear, and just 2 washings... I'm not sure what the problem was, but returned the product, although I still have 2 of their fleeces that are over a year and a half old, and have served me well. | |

| This is an attractive, snugly fitting and very warm jacket. It could pack up smaller but the extra warmth makes up for the bulkiness. | |
