I love this shell! | |

This shell is fantastic. Arc'teryx really designs their products for their intended function, and for daily use and abuse. I ski with this shell and the Theta SV pants, and it's a winning combination - easily layered, dry, and comfortable. It's also a great all-purpose wet-weather jacket.

I've put quite a few days on my Arc'teryx Stinger jacket, and I'm convinced it's the best ski shell I've ever seen. A few standout points that make it so; extra tall, fully fleece-lined collar. You can tuck in to the collar when it's dumping and blowing and totally hide your face, but it doesn't get in the way while ripping. I like the roll-away hood, because it's not too bulky, and the collar can be cinched from inside when the hood is tucked away; fits over my Smith helmet just right. Nice pocket setup; internal stretch pockets hold contents securely, but aren't floppy when they're empty. Lastly, as with all Arc'teryx ski jackets, fits so nice; no extra fabric, articulated arms move freely with any amount of layers, and bombproof. scratched through many trees (and over a few rocks) and it's in perfect condition! And the color is great, good vis, but not too bright.

Stick With CANADIAN Made Arc'teryx

| Just forget about the price if you're thinking about getting one of these and go for it. I've had mine for two seasons now and it looks like it did the day I bought it and I've taken to heaven and hell in the backcountry, south america and Europe. As far as I know this piece is still made in CANADA and not outsourced to China. At least the one I have was Canadian made. All of the Canadian made Arc'teryx pieces I have are awsome in quality, finish and fit. I'm 6'2, 210lbs with a 48 chest and 34 waist. The XXL works great for me as I can layer appropriately under it. This thing will probably last longer than I do so there will be no replacing it anytime soon. Stick with Canadian made Arc'teryx | |

BEST JACKET EVER! NO JOKING AROUND- EVEN THOUGH THIS IS MOOSEJAW!

| I have now owned this jacket for 3 days and went skiing for the first time in it today. Freezing cold temps with 20 mph gusting winds. It was snowing too. I was amazed! It was the best I have ever felt skiing. I mostly ski expert runs and tend to build up alot heat and then freeze on the lift or underdress and be cold all of the time(with my TNF high vent). This jacket kept me just right and was a perfect 3rd layer. I normally wear an XL in TNF. Chatted with Moosejaw before buying and followed their recommendation for L. It fits perfectly (6'4", 205, 34 waist, 42 chest)! | |

Totally Bomb proof! | |

| I have owned many Gore-tex shells before from North Face to Burton. This shell really is the best. It has all the right features; waterproof zippers, pit zips, Recco, inside and chest pockets, powder skirt. One unique feature is the high collar. When my kids saw it they commented about it but once I got on the slopes during a cold snow storm, it totally came through. imagine a Gore-tex Pro neck gaiter. This jacket totally shut down the high winds at Snowbird. It was blowing up a storm but inside I could feel the wind hit the jacket and go around. Meanwhile I was comfortable warm, dry and breathing! | |

Super bomber | |

My Stinger arrived in the mail last night, but I couldn't wait to comment before actually wearing it in the field. The construction and attention to detail is off the charts, the fit is perfect - not too trim and with plenty of room for layers. I was also shocked by how light it is, especially considering how durable and burly the jacket is designed. Lastly, I bought the gold medal color, and i like it more in person than online. It is a deeper color than it appears online, with more of a hint of orange than you see online.

Great ski shell | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| Finally, this is a ski shell that is designed 100% for skiing and not for some kind of climbing/skiing/backcountry cross-over. High collar works for blocking out wind. The materials and cut are typical Arcteryx- bomber-proof, minimalist and simple. The sizing is on the generous side. I am a Large in other Arcteryx jackets, but Med Stinger fits me well and the Large is clearly too big. The only gripe is that the color palettee is limited and they don't make it in Red, that's appartently reserved to the CMH version . | |

I just received my new Stinger jacket. I was hesitant to purchase this jacket primarily due to the cost however after reading numerous online reviews, tried it on at a local outdoor shop I was sold. Its top of the line bomb proof. Quality construction all around. Fit is perfect. Wore it last night in pouring rain and nothing gets through it. Cant wait for the snow to fall. This piece of clothing I will have/use for a very long time.

Top-notch weather protection. Yes, it is light on features, but also light on weight. Real light weight. The stow-hood is very nice, because most of the time I do not want a fixed hood billowing out behind me like some giant wind-sock. Bomber protection from the elements, it does feel at times like it's made of mylar, in that the material is crinkly & crackly (and not because it doesn't breathe!). It's Gore-Tex, so breathes well.
