Great fit for a great value

I bought these primarily for playing in the snow with my kids, snow tubing, and hiking in the winter. I live in Baltimore so it isn't too cold here but I plan on using these for future trips to the Poconos and to Rochestester and I don't forsee any problem. They were warm and I'm confident they will keep me dry.
What I did want to comment on was that I was really worried about fit given some of the comments on here. But given the great price I thought it was worth giving them a chance and I'm so glad I did! I am 5'4" and wear a size 4 (size 27 waist). I ordered a Size Small (which was what their sizing chart recommended) and they fit perfectly! I wore them over leggings and I think I could wear them over skinny jeans if I wanted to and they were perfect. Not too bulky and a good length. Definitely give these a try! Well worth it!

Great-looking and weather/wind proof!

I am an amature outdoor photographer. I have used these pants at and below freezing temperatures, in wind and snow. These keep me warm and dry. I usually end up sitting in the snow and my jeans stay dry with these pants on. I love the gaitors; they keep snow out of my boots. The pants are waterproof also, and they look great! (I originally ordered a size large (I am 5'4" and weigh aprx. 150 lbs) and they were huge on me). You can figure out what size you need by my information above. I reordered a medium and they fit great! (I gave my other pair to someone; I loved them so much - I didn't want to return them and that person is also enjoying theirs). She rides horses and is in an unheated barn all day/night...she says they keep her warm and dry as well. Great pant for a great price!

Just what I needed

Three days before a ski trip, we discovered my daughters had outgrown their snow pants. We don't ski often, so I didn't want to spend a ton of money on something I had to select in a rush. These pants were perfect! After reading other reviews, I didn't expect great quality, but the pants were fine. We had no trouble with zippers, velcro, etc. Also, I was concerned that the size Small that I ordered would be too big for my girls (they are 5'7" / 118# and 5'4" / 112# and both wear size 0 jeans), but they fit fine - a little loose, but not a problem. They wore the snow pants over leggings. Great value and just what I was looking for.

Thanks to Campmor for getting them to us in time for the trip!

Best Winter Wear Ever!!!!!

I was freezing doing barn chores and wanted something to go over my pants not under, like long johns, since I go outside several times a day with the livestock and the dogs and got sick of changing when I was in the house. These fit beautifuly, don't restrict movement and keep me dry as a bone when watering the horses. And your service is A-1. Had them in two days!!!! Just in time for this northeastern snowstorm we got. Also the price is ridicuously cheap for the quality!!! Thanks so much for this product. I also bought a pair of the ones with suspenders for trail walking in deep snow and they also are great.I would recomend them to anyone who's outside much.

Oh darn!

I was so excited to receive these, but alas, they were too small! I am looking for a windproof, water-resistant insulated pant that will not cost an arm and a leg as an alternative to my foul-weather bibs for sailing. I looked at other options, but for the price and features, these would be perfect. When I ordered, they did not have the next size up, and being on the cusp of the sizing chart, I thought I might be able to get away with the smaller option. I have returned these, and am hoping I might get a pair via exchange, but I'm not holding my breath. Didn't get to properly rate these because they were too small.

Love them!

I am so happy with these pants. I usually wear about size 5 jeans, and the small fit me perfectly. They are not bulky, they have adjustable velcro tabs on the sides to cinch the waist if you want, and they have a combo snap/velcro closure with zipper. I wear them all winter long for many things, even when there is no snow. They provide wind protection when I take my dog out for long walks and even when I go out shopping. They are extremely comfortable, even over jeans, or just with leggings. I can't recommend these enough. I also have them in white. So affordable and they do the job.

I would puchaser this for all my family

Bought these snow pants for church Family Winter Retreat. Last year had snow to our knees at camp. But we are in OH so weather changes from one day to the next. No snow this year and we had a sunny mild weekend. However, winter has revisitied us. Wore them to shovel snow today. Out for over an hour and finally, my legs stayed warm. Yay!!!!! Waist is big and tabs don't want to stay in place when adjusting waist, but other than that I am very pleased.

Toasty Warm!

I took them out of the box, put them on and started to shovel and shovel and shovel! I shoveled snow and chipped at ice for 3 hours and was toasty warm the whole time! My intent was to wear them show-shoeing but they worked perfect for me today. No issues with the fit - I am a small approx 5'3" and they fit just fine as an outer layer (had a little room to spare), the length is great too.

Light weight warm and wind protection.

I purchased these simply to wear when I go sledding with the grand kids. As of yet, no sledding, but used them during a week of extreme cold (sub zero with wind chill) here in NH. As a letter carrier, I am out in the elements for hours...these pants really helped and they are not bulky. My only less than favorable comment is I feel the sizes run a little big.
I would definitely recommend to a friend.

These are great in Minnesota winters

I use these in the MN winters for everyday things like shoveling snow and clearing off the car. I also use them for snow tubing and other outdoor activities. They are comfortable, not too bulky, and they keep me warm and dry. The size chart is accurate. I am 5'4" and 110lbs and the small is perfect over my long johns and jeans. I would recommend them. They are a great buy for a great price!

Negative Reviews:

Great quality, terrible fit

A slew of reviewers for this product rightfully complain that these pants are a poor fit. Some say "buy one size down" or state their height and weight, while these values have nothing to do with how clothes fit. It's your measurements (hips, inseam, waist, etc.), your shape, and not your weight and height, that determine how pants, especially women's pants would fit. Of course, it's not customers' responsibility to provide these measurements. And this is where the manufacturer or the Campmor website, or both, have failed miserably. They have over 70 reviews stating the sizing is wrong, yet they do nothing about it!.. Well, attracted by the price, I bought these pants one size down than what sizing chart suggested for me. Still, they turned out to be 2 sizes too large! That's only half the problem, because even if I exchange these pants for the ones 3 sizes down (assuming those would finally be a good fit), they'll still fit terribly, because the zipper is very tall - it puckers and the bottom end jams into your nether regions with every move. The waist on these pants is adjustable to infinity, but that tall zipper is not good for a petite woman with a flat stomach, who can't fill this extra space out. These pants are going back, and I urge future buyers to demand from the seller detailed measurements for these pants. Too bad, because the quality and the price are excellent...

Cheap Lining -- beware

I took these pants on a week-long ski trip. Was very pleased with them when they first arrived -- looked like just the thing. The medium was a roomy fit on me. They kept me dry and warm, but on the 2nd day of use, the lining inside the pants had begun to fray and rip from the crotch along the the inner seam down the leg. It was obvious that the lining was sewn in with a very tiny seam allowance. I had to wear them a 3rd time, but then the lining ripped even more, and I was forced to buy another pair at the ski resort to be able to ski for 3 more days.

I think a pair of ski/snow pants should be up to some wear and tear. I am not an expert skier by any means, I can do no tricks or fancy things. I did sustain a a couple falls a day. Since the pants were not tight, nothing should have ripped inside had it been sewn properly with decent seam allowance.
Sarah at Campmor on 03/03/2011

TOO SMALL!!!!

I read the reviews and saw many complaints about the fit of these snowpants so I ordered both the Small and Medium to make sure I got the right size. Both were too small!! In fact, the medium didn't feel any larger than the small -- they fit exactly the same. According to the size chart, a small should fit. I am sending back both pairs for a refund -- too bad I have to eat my shipping costs I paid to have them delivered AND to ship them back. Look elsewhere!
Kim at Campmor on 02/02/2012

Extremely disappointed

The first time I put them on and went to the ski resort, the pants disappointed. Put my keys in my pocket and about 5 min later, my keys fell through the pocket and all the way down to the bottom hem of the pants. I had to take them off to retrieve my keys. Very cheaply made pockets. And unfortunately the bottoms of the pants wore a hole in them after 2 days as well. I suppose you get what you pay for. :(
Lisa at Campmor on 02/02/2013

Much too small, misleading sizing info

Based on previous feedback that sizing was large I ordered down a size (receiving a small, I usually would be medium). Couldn't even get them on, so reordered in my regular size thinking it was my own fault - there was no difference! They fit exactly the same (and yes, I checked the label). I gave up and ordered different pants from another vendor. $10 in return shipment for nothing.
Jen at Campmor on 01/01/2012

Sizing Way Off

I never wore these outside simply becuase they were WAy too big. They were about 2 inches long (I'm 5'4") and way too big aorund the waist. I ordered a woman's medium, which usually fits me, being a size 7-8, but the waist was massive.
ninjal at Campmor on 03/03/2011

Disappointed.

Didn't expect legs to be so wide. I returned it to a campmore store and found another by same manufacturer at same price, but much better fit! Strange how they varied.
NA at Campmor on 02/02/2013

Run very big

Pants run to big had to order 2 sizes smaller than what I nornally buy.....has a snap instead of a button don't really like snaps for snow pants
pinky at Campmor on 01/01/2011

Mis- Labeled or something...

Ordered a Womens Medium in white but there was a problem with the labeling or something because they were absolutely GIGANTIC. I had to return them.
JenFreud at Campmor on 01/01/2011

THESE ARE HUGE- ORDER DOWN A SIZE

These were redesigned last year per Customer Service. We've purchased several pairs in the past and these are at least a size larger than past purchases.

Neutral Reviews:

Odd, but usable after alteration.

I bought these to use for general use around our farm in winter.

The fit is interesting. WAY too long in the leg, and I'll be making major sewing alterations to shorten. Why clothing manufacturers automatically assume that an XL waisted woman is as tall as an Amazon is beyond me. I will be eliminating the leg zippers as they won't be needed after shortening, and the lower legs are as big as the Liberty Bell anyway. For the price, I guess it was worth it.
Diane at Campmor on 01/01/2013

TRUE 2 SIZE - order your usual size!

After reading the reviews, I had the impression that these were going to be big, so I ordered a medium, when I usually wear a large. They seem fine. Not very lightweight at all - still pretty bulky, I'd say. I can't say anything about their wear, construction, beathability, of waterproofness, seeing as how I won't be wearing these unless I manange to get month long violent flu, or a tape worm.
Susan at Campmor on 01/01/2012

No complaints

Bought this for my wife for her first snowboard trip to Mammoth, CA. I didn't want to spend top dollars on high end snowboard pants since I wasn't sure if she was going to snowboard on a regular basis. It worked great for the weekend. Nothing broke & it kept her warm & dry the entire time.
BukoBoy at Campmor on 06/06/2012

Cheap but they work

I am 4'11" and we had to hem these pants about 12 inches which made the zipper totally useless so keep that in mind if you are short. However, they are warm, rain proof, and fine in the snow as well. They were so inexpensive compared to other pants that I can't really complain.
Travelin' Quaker at Campmor on 01/01/2013

....oddly sized...

item was returned, because of poor fit in the waist. Loved the design, material, color and good length, BUT seat, hips and waist would have fit XXL. Was sad to have to return as it was exactly what I had been looking for for upcoming winter-hikes. Sorry...
love-to-hike at Campmor on 10/10/2011

Runs big

I ordered a women's size large because that is what I usually wear. The pants were very big and I had to exchange for a medium, which cost me money to send back. However, the price is good for the product received
farm_girl at Campmor on 03/03/2011

Good quality for money spent

Not the greatest quality but good for our uses. The snap pulled out on the first use but the velcro held the waistband closed anyway. Is the snap really necessary? Beef up the velcro and they are perfect.
Jo at Campmor on 02/02/2011

Pants are fine for the price

Great pants for the price for someone who does not ski much. I wish I had bought a small instead of a medium, but they were fine. Purchase with confidence, they will be just fine.

Sizing was a little off

We had to return them because they were too large, and we still haven't received the new size.
Kevin at Campmor on 03/03/2013

runs REALLY LARGE - a lady's XL was huge

I need to return the XL - it would only fit a very large man (not a lady).
