Ariat Heritage Western R Toe Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

Excellent boot overall - looks great with jeans. I am particularly impressed with the durability while still being stylish (I think next time I will buy the J toe however). I wear this boot several times a week (for nearly two years now) and I tend to be hard on shoes. The hard rubber sole is incredibly durable and is still in good shape. Great traction also - I have worn the boots in snow/ice in Canada as well as the moist/wet Deep South. However, I did find the boot to be uncomfortable with the provided insole. However, this improved greatly when I replaced the insole with my custom orthotic. That's another big advantage of this boot - removable insoles. Removable insoles help keep the boot fresh since they can be removed and dried separately. Even with custom orthotics, after heavy walking, my ankles and shins sometimes hurt a bit. In fairness, I will say that I have really flat feet and also run a lot (not in boots!), so that might contribute to my overall discomfort/sensitivity. Also, I do not ride horses so I cannot comment on its effectiveness in that environment.

These boots were comfortable right out of the box. No need to break them in like many other boots I've owned. I've had them for about a month now and they have just gotten better with time. They are very supportive and I'm comfortable standing in them all day. They look great too.

Neutral Reviews:

Nice boot for the money. The first 24 hours in them was torture. Very stiff! Other Ariat boots I've had did not start out so stiff. These you'll want to pace yourself with in regards to how long you'll wear them during the break in period. Leather feels cheaper too and is treated with something to make it so stiff and hold its shape. I rated them 3 stars, meaning; satisfied but not impressed.
