Armada Alpha X Ski -

The alpha male often has a naturally domineering attitude, a bit of swagger if you will. The Armada Alpha X Ski is the big dog on the hill, a ski ready for the smoothest spins on the biggest jumps. It makes other skis whimper and tuck their tail. And it's even better this year than previously. Completely redesigned for the '13/14 season, the Alpha X features a wider platform for added stability both in the park and on the mountain. It also has a lower tip and tail height and less taper than its predecessor.

Armada’s EST Freeride Rocker features the perfect blend of rocker and positive underfoot camber, so you float when the flakes fall and carve the hardpack like an ice sculptor. The Hybrid Triple Zone core is super-strong, so there's no need to be gentle. The AR50 Sidewall sports a cap construction in the tip and tail with a classic sidewall underfoot, providing the perfect blend of performance, durability, and low swing weight, and the Laminate Matrix utilizes directional fiberglass layering to dictate torsional rigidity and flex pattern to add to your performance value. The Alpha X gets Armada's fastest base, the Camp Series, and its lightest 1.7mm Impact Edge for more performance.

Features:

  • Comp Series Base
  • AR50 Sidewall
  • Hybrid Triple Zone Core
  • CK Stringers
  • Laminate Matrix
  • EST Park Rocker
  • 92-96mm waist
  • 2.5 Impact Edge
  • AR 50 Sidewall
The House

2014’s Armada Alpha X is an intermediate to advanced level park ski and an improved version of the 2013 Alpha 1. The Alpha X still has that same snappy feel that made its predecessor so popular but the waist has been widened to allow for more versatile all mountain exploration. AR50 Sidewall combined with cap construction give the Alpha X low swing weight and high durability; perfect for spins and jibs, presses and butters. Armada’s EST Park Rocker tech brings your ski experience to the next level with edge hold underfoot and rocker from the contact point to the tip.The Armada Alpha X is a killer park ski with a high performing all mountain design.

Evo (2014)
Alpha: Superior, best, most powerful. That sounds about right for the Armada Alpha X Skis. Overhauled for 2014, the Alpha X now features a wider platform for increased stability. The tip and tail were also popped, locked and dropped low-rider style for better control while maintaining the light swing weight of the EST Park Rocker. Add a super fast Comp Series Base and light yet poppy Triple Zone core and you've got a ski that's ready to huck the smoothest spins off the biggest booters.

2014 Armada Alpha X Ski Review

It's Kyle here, I just got off the Armada Alpha X. I give this ski a 5 out of 5. It was super playful with the elf shoe tech tip and tail, it works really well for mixed conditions, a little bit of powder, maybe a little bit of hard, crusty snow, kind of cuts right through it in the tip and then lifts you up. Super easy to turn and engage turns. Super stable under foot, held an edge really great. Just kind of an all around mountain ripper. You can anything with this ski. Again, I give it a 5 out of 5.

The ARMADA ALPHA X has a inflated waist this year making it a whole new beast. Now with a 95mm waist and park rocker the Alpha X is ready for business both in and out the park. The rockered shape makes the ski really playful while the tapering in the tip and tail lessons the swing weight drastically. Also, I could really notice the race base in the spring when the conditions got slow, had no problem with speed while others were struggling to clear knuckle.

2014 Armada Alpha X Ski Review

Evan here. Just got off the Armada Alpha X. I give this ski 4 out of 5 stars. It's going to be a good ski for your advanced-intermediate all the way up to advanced park skier or all-mountain skier. Really thrives on the hard-packed. Could definitely go into softer snow since it does have a little early rise in tip and tail. But definitely going to be that fun little jib stick for your park rider.

2014 Armada Alpha X Ski Review

Kyle here with the Armada Halo 2 (oops, Alpha X). I love this ski 100 percent, so I'm going to give it a 5 out of 5. It's a nice, poppy, stiff ski. Front and back rocker, really easy to manuever and does whatever you want, and it holds an edge really well. It's good for anywhere from intermediate to expert.

So I got this ski and well... They look awesome and are super light. A little stiff but that's good for hitting the big booters. It's wider also and handles well on the rails too. I got the 170s and I highly recommend them. See ya shreddin.
