Plush 600-fill down in the Armada Women's Aria Insulator Down Jacket provides warmth without the weight, making this hoodie-inspired jacket an excellent outer jacket for shoulder-season backpacking, kicking around town in winter, and layering for the ski slopes. It's also highly compressible so you don't sacrifice much space when you take this out on cold camping trips or vacations. A slim fit and smooth shell help you slide a hardshell over this jacket for frigid days at the ski resort. The shell has slight water-resistant protection, so you'll stay dry in light flurries when you cinch the hood over your head. Both the ribbed hem and cuffs block out the cold temps and add hoodie style, and retro ribbing and a leather chest patch keep it a bit old school.
Once again, Armada crushes both ends of the fashion spectrum by making a badass, stylish jacket, that also keeps you warm and dry. I can't go anywhere in town without someone asking me where I got it or who makes it. I've never been a camo fan, but this subtle camo with hidden floral accents is beyond awesome. After a long day of skiing, this was the perfect jacket to curl up in to and have a beer. I honestly didn't use it for the purpose of skiing because it's a bit too puffy to go underneath my jacket, but for everything else from going to parties, to running errands, to hanging out at base camp, this jacket has you covered.
This jacket features 600 down fill which keeps me warm for grabbing my morning coffee and then my drive to the mountain. It fits great, runs true to size, and isn't overly puffy. I am ridiculously happy with this coat and the way it fits. There are no vents but this jacket / down sweater features two zipper pockets and elastic cuffs. The high neck makes it great for when it's windy & I need to hunker down in the coat. Unfortunately there is not a powder skirt but this jacket is more casual than performance. I love, I love, I love.
I think Armada as a brand typically runs a little smaller. So I would recommend sizing up maybe on this jacket. It is a slim-fit cut, which was thinner in the waist, and to me it felt like the shoulders were less broad too. Other than that, it's highly functional, super warm and very pleasing to the eye.
Love this jacket in the camo - i seriously get stopped all the time and people ask where it is from. Get it while you can it won't stay in stock. get after it ladies, for real.
