Armada Norwalk -

Even though you've moved past the days of ski bumming, you still slay the mountain as if you ski every day when you use the Armada Norwalk Skis. Made for aggressive big-mountain skiers who squeeze in their powder sessions between work and family, the Norwalks feature entry rockered tips, traditional camber underfoot, no tail rocker, and fat waists that make these skis stable at speeds that peel your eyelids back. Designed to drive through the end of turns, skim over choppy chunder, and rail long-radius turns through all sorts of terrain, this big-mountain ski makes you feel as if you have 50+ days of riding in under your belt this season even though it may only be the 10th day out.

Armada is all about durability and ensuring the life of its skis, so it gave the Norwalks a Hybrid Ultralight wood core and AR50 sandwich sidewall construction for a high strength-to-weight ratio that you can count on when you're charging down hardpack, techy terrain, or through early-season conditions.

This big-mountain destroyer also has Laminate Matrix technology (directional layering of fiberglass) that provides a smooth, even flex pattern and torsional rigidity for stellar performance in a variety of snow conditions and terrain. In addition, you'll be grateful for its lightweight, strong 1.7mm edges that have been heat treated for durability and 50/50 bases that offer a just-right blend of speed and durability.

  • AR50 sidewall construction

  • 114-116mm waist, depending on length

  • EST All Mtn Rocker (entry rockered tip with camber underfoot and no tail rocker)
  • Hybrid ultralight core (wood)
  • 1.7 Impact edge
  • 50/50 base
  • Laminate Matrix technology (2013)
The Armada Norwalk can push through the end of a turn and break through any crud that the mountain throws at you while providing utmost stability at high speeds. Go for it! The Armada Norwalk has the EST All Mountain Rocker feature, which provides an entry rocker with a positive camber under foot and no tail rocker. This camber offers floatation in that light bottomless snow without sacrificing a powerful drive and great edge control on the hard pack.
The 1.7 impact steel edge on these babies is heat treated to a proprietary hardness, guaranteed to last. The Armada Norwalk has a 50/50 faster base for increased speed as compared to the S7 base and is more rugged. A special blend of Carbon/Kevlar creates the stringers that run along the tail of the skis, and provide the stability for that better landing platform. The ultra light core combined with the laminate matrix creates the exact amount of flex and torsional rigidity. The AR50 sidewall balances performance characteristics with lower swing weight and increased durability. It is the time to let the ski take you into the incredible, with the ease of the simple; it is time for the Armada Norwalk.

Christy Sports (2013)

Armada Norwalk Ski - Men's:  The Norwalk has tip rocker only and a traditional tail and camber underfoot. As a result, the Norwalk can drive through the end of a turn, conquer variable conditions, and have the utmost stability at high speeds. With a wider platform and longer turning radius than its younger brother, the TST, the Norwalk is Armada's big mountain ski .

Evo (2014)
With tip rocker, a traditional tail and camber under foot, the Armada Norwalk Skis can drive through a turn exit, charge in variable conditions, and stay stable while straightlining down the mountain. Slightly wider and with a larger turning radius than the TST, the Norwalk is Armada's big mountain destroyer.

Armada Norwalk Reviews:

I bought the Norwalks in 189cm last year and like them so much I'm actually writing a review, (rare). I use these for cat skiing and find the normal camber tail a refreshing return to tradition from rocker tails. I grew up skiing classic camber skis and typically sit too far back so having a proper tail to rely on in a powder ski helped me a great deal.
I liked these skis so much I bought a second pair in 179cm for this season in the event that I encounter those dreaded heavy snow days and have to stay in the tight trees. That and I wanted to see how they'd ski differently on hard pack in a shorter ski... :)
Just like the name says these skis are great for when it starts to puke in winter!

The Norwalk is a true Big-Mountain workhorse that performs phenomenally all over the mountain. The ARMADA all-mountain rocker gives the Norwalk a solid platform for charging on hardpack and variable conditions while the rocker / early taper in the nose gives it ample rise and float in deep snow conditions. The tip profile also loosens up the front of the ski just enough to help it through tight situations without sacrificing stability at high speeds. I found them light enough for big touring missions and burly enough for everyday resort Shredding...

I'm a big fan of the Norwalks, they have a very solid feel to them. They seem like they will stomp just about anything you try, and you can ski them very fast. Still though, they are playful in the powder, with plenty of rocker up front to keep you floating. This right here is a ski that combines fatness, stability, traditional camber, and rocker all in one. One of the greatest new offerings from Armada, you won't be disappointed.

Love this ski and can't say enough good stuff about it. It handles everything you can throw at it and keeps you smiling. I took it on a trip down to Chile where we had varied conditions and it ate it all up, powder, crud, bumps. Definitely recommend this ski!
