The top-notch, double-meat Armada Prime Gore-Tex XCR Glove gives you leather-upon-Pittards W100X leather-upon-leather palm to give you the best-feeling glove with protection to boot. This cow-killer has the Gore-Tex promise of guaranteed waterproof, breathable performance with XCR technology. Underneath that burly barrier is cozy Thinsulate insulation to keep your fingers from freezing. A smooth and silky Bemberg lining feels luxurious, and, believe it or not you tough nut, you'll appreciate it. Reverse seam construction on the palm makes it smooth sailing inside, and Armada's Lazy Fingers keep a curve in your grip so holding on to that pole feels a little more natural and easier. After all, you're using your muscles for more exciting things, like trying not to scorpion on this straightline.
I have been skiing in these gloves a few times and my initial impression is they are amazing. The goretex keeps you dry no matter what, and the leather they are made of is holding up well and is nice and supple. These remind me of a mix between a Black Diamond glove for function and a Hestra glove for style. They look rad, the stitching is awesome, and seeing how they have worn so far I expect many more days out of these gloves. I just have to say that Armada is coming up big time not only in their ski designs (which have revolutionized the ski industry) but also with their clothing. I have bought several clothing items from T's to hoodies, to snowpants and every piece I own has held up well and has surpassed my expectation in regards to function and quality.
The coldest I have skied this glove in was 2 degress F, and after a warm up lap my hand were already nice and toasty. Compared to my Hestra gloves they warmed up quite a bit quicker. I highly recommend these gloves for anyone who wants a warm dry glove for everyday shredding. I also recommend just about anything Armada. If it says Armada, you can guarantee that the item is top of the line.
Thanks for making the lives of skiers better ARMADA!
I have used these gloves a few times so far this season, The sizing is a little tight initially but as I keep wearing them they are getting more and more comfortable, I have them in white and the first day I used them was a average day on the mountain, not too cold or wet, the gloves kept me dry and really warm but the gloves seemed to have a good amount of wear to them after the first time I used them, the color faded and looks like I wore them for a month! The next time I used them was an extremely cold day (2 degrees F with wind chill of -10) and my hands stayed nice and warm and dry. so over-all If you aren't worried about a little color fading this is a good glove! would give it 5 star if it weren't for the fading in the first use!
Prior to receiving these gloves as a gift I always used work gloves for skiing, which I like, but these gloves are far superior! They've kept my hands at a perfect temperature in a wide range of skiing conditions (just below zero to above 40 F), dry in wet snow, and look awesome! I own the white ones and like several other people have noticed the white finish on the leather wears off fast. At first I was disappointed, but with that wear the gloves have gotten much more comfortable, stretched out, and fit my hands perfectly! Now I think they look even cooler because the white just turns slightly gray. I've had these gloves for about a month (where I've used them every day) and I can tell they're going to last me a very long time. The construction is very high quality and they're extremely versatile!
Lucky for me, I received these as a gift! In the past I have always worn Black Diamond gloves. I was in need of an upgrade and these were the perfect replacement.
When I first received them they were starch white and they fit perfectly. I received a medium, they fit perfectly when I first tried them on and have since stretched out a bit. My initial impressions were that they were almost too warm, my hands would sweat! Since then they have broken in very nicely and the leather is very soft and keeps me warm and dry. Since they have stretched out they have become a little less warm, but still keep me comfortable and if necessary I can fit a hand warmer in them now.
I would highly recommend these gloves to anyone looking to anyone looking for an everyday glove.
When I first tried these gloves on, my initial impression was that they were way too small! After using them one or two times, they broke in very nicely to a very comfortable, yet snug, fit.
The Gore-Tex material is doing its job, my hands stay warm and dry for the whole day of skiing! I haven't had any problems staying warm with these gloves.
The white color does fade very quick! Within the first time of using it, the color was already starting to go away. I haven't noticed any change in how well these gloves work though so I'm not too worried about the fading color, as long as I can keep my hands warm!
All in all, other than the fading color, I was pleasantly surprised with these gloves and would recommend sizing up if you were in between sizes.
I have worn these gloves about 5 times now and I am thoroughly enjoying them. I normally prefer mittens but I am very impressed with the comfort of these gloves, as well as the warmth. The zipper closure and velcro wrist make for a snug fit, and the seams on the outside of the gloves make for a super plush feel all day. I ordered the white pair, because they look gangster, and am not bummed out at all about my choice. They have started to get slightly dirty and the leather is starting to break in more, but I think it just makes them look even better. My only complaint is that on super cold days my finger tips get cold, in this case i would prefer a mitten. Overall I am stoked on them.
I too, was gifted a pair of these gloves and so far I love them. Like, the other reviewers, I also noticed the color fading (mine are the black ones). But that's the only issue I have found with them so far. They fit perfectly, I got a women's small and haven't noticed any changes in the fit since I got them.
I love the contrast stitching and zipper placement and they are super plushy and warm inside. I've used them snowshoeing a few times now, the coldest I've been out in them has been 7 degrees F and they definitely kept me warm and dry.
Super lucky getting a pair of these gifted :) . I have smaller hands, being a female and all hehe and had first mentioned a small women's for these , but since these are a hot commodity , no more women's were available..small mens are only a little big on me..so these run small. The leather helps them have a more fitted fit and will break in and form more around my hand :).I am loving these so far..warm and comfy. The black color is sweet, no issues with any color rubbing off. More great gear from Armada. Thanks again Ryan! (Armada Sales Rep)
I have only taken these gloves out about 6 times to the mountain but I couldn't have been more satisfied. They fit perfectly to my hand keeping the glove conformed and on tight. With the GTX technology they were able to keep my hands super warm and dry. I ride in a lot of rough terrain and have torn through many pairs of gloves. I can tell that these ones are gonna last me a while.
I don't like the sizing on these. They are a bit snug for my liking. I like to wear liners underneath and there is no way. So for that reason I cannot use them for my snowboarding.
They are good gloves though. I wear them for everyday winter things and they haven't let me down. Would highly recommend for everyday use, or even ski'ing/SB'ing with no liners. Extremely warm, look nice, and keeps my hands dry.
I'd give these gloves a C -
These gloves are nice, don't get me wrong but I tried on multiple pairs and found that there was a large inconsistency in the sizing between gloves in the same pair. My right glove was far tighter than my left one (I know, you're going to say "Are your hand different sizes?" And to that I say no. I tried multiple pairs on and found others where the right hand was larger than the left hand, just too much discrepancy in the sizing for me.
Fit / Finish:
Out of the package I was so stoked for a pair of all whites gloves, I knew they'd get dirty but who cares right? Except at the end of my first day wearing them... really only 3 hours the surface of the leather was already noticeably worn off. The finishing process used on the white is not durable and wears very quickly.
The out seams on the fourchettes (this is the part of the glove that is on the interior of your fingers, the panel that goes from between fingers to match the panel that is part of the palm) are awesome, love that detail on gloves.
I'm a bit confused about the closures on this glove. There is a zipper detail on the back of hand at the cuff and then a velcro closure on the interior of the wrist. The velcro closure is mounted on what I think is a 4-way stretch material (don't have the gloves in front of me) and it's an odd closure with the material stretching.
Good gloves, but in my opinion this is kind of like when George Lucas got to make Star Wars 1, 2 and 3 and got all excited with new technology and wasn't able to stick to the key things that made it successful in the first place. Just sayin.

I recently was gifted with a pair of these and looking forward of giving them a complete hammering.
My first impressions was, "Wow, I believe I need a larger pair".
I received a large pair, my normal size and they were tight, but after speaking with a Armada rep, I now understand this fit and therefore gonna keep the large.
These are leather gloves and they're designed to fit tight at first use, but as time goes on they start to gain room and comfort. I've only used them a couple of days of commuting and a hike and am impressed with their warm and they are more comfortable.
For the next 30 days I'll be using these as my main go to gloves while commuting to and from the Backcountry SLC offices (rain, snow or shine), on bi-weekly training hikes and scrambles for mountaineering, shopping errands, and of course a few ski runs in between.
Can't wait to give you an update at the end of December and you can catch this update along with all my gear reviews by following me.
The 30 Day Test:
These glove vary in sizing and I found the XL to fit like a large. They did stretch some but still fit tight.
The leather on these have held up well. They did start to loose the white within just a week or two but I used them hard while commuting via MTB each day to the Backcountry offices. White make a great choice if you only want to use them for apres activity. Still very pleased how supple they are and the waterproof held up well with Nikwax applications. I really loved the finger design with the extra side panels on the fingers. It made them more flexible.
These have kept my fingers toasty warm with commutes in the sub zero temps.
For the price they're a bargain but the sizing issue needs to be managed. I'd like to see another model with the same design with palm and finger pads attached to the exterior for a more durable glove in skiing and cycling applications.
This glove fits well and is a warm glove. I really like the reverse seam which helps with comfort as well as dexterity. It is a warm glove but I have not used it in frigid conditions. The coldest I have skied in glove was about 20 degrees with some wind so not a true test of their warmth but they were more than adequate for the conditions.
I got the glove in White. During the first couple days, the white paint (or whatever it is) would rub off on everything including my pants/jacket and ski poles as well as the arm rest on the lift. Once all the paint in the palm wore away, an off-white leather showed through. It is not a big deal and you can't really notice the paint wearing away until you look closely at the glove. However, it should not be happening in the first three days in a glove.
Scooter mentioned sizing issues in another review but I typically wear a medium glove and it fit quite well - if not a bit big - but nothing to detract from the fit. If you have an abnormally large thumb, this glove will fit you quite well.
Overall, I am satisfied with this glove but would recommend spending the extra money to get the Hestra Fall Line glove.
I have used these gloves probably six times this season. The fit is great and the combination of Leather Outer, Gore-Tex, and Thinsulate insulation has kept my hands dry and toasty both on the slopes and also snowmobiling. The downside to these gloves is durability, as the seams have split in several places without much abuse which is a bit disapointing. However, because of the Gore-Tex liner, they are still holding true to being waterproof. Sizing seems to be accurate according to the sizing chart.
