The mesh lining helps keep your lower half loving life and not suffocating in stuffy knee sweat. Load on layers when temps tank, and the slick-faced mesh will slide right over the worst (wool jokes never get old) of 'em. If you're hiking in hurry, discard excess leg sweat via the inner leg vents, and zip 'em closed when you're waiting for the rest of the crew to catch up with you.
Boot gaiters with stretchy suspension stop snow in its track so your ankles stay warm and dry.
