Asics GT-2000 GTX -

When rain clouds loom on the horizon or puddles abound on your route, don't let them get in the way of your run. Weatherize your feet with the Asics Women's GT-2000 GTX Running Shoe. You get the waterproof breathable protection that's supplied by the Gore-Tex insert in the upper, along with the stability and support that mild to moderate over-pronators have come to rely on.

Besides the waterproof membrane, the GTX sets itself apart with its comfort and cushioning system. ASICS FluidRide midsole technology provides a combo of bounce-back and cushioning properties with reduced weight and extra durability. Dynamic DuoMax support system in midsole features dual-density foam that's positioned to enhance support and stability. You get gender-specific cushioning in a lower-density top layer in the midsole, which allows female athletes to enjoy the benefits of midsole compression. GEL cushioning pods absorb impact at the rear and forefoot as the foot rolls from heel to toe. And the midsole, sole, and cushioning are linked together by Impact Guidance System to provide the most natural gait from heel strike to toe-off.

So, you're out there pounding it, with dry feet and all the cushioning you could dream of, but you need to make sure that you aren't slipping all over the place. The lugged outsole offers secure traction on wet, muddy ground. For extended usage, the Asics High Abrasion Rubber (AHAR) in critical areas of the outsole prevents premature wear. Well, the outsold is even built for comfort with the Durasponge blown rubber outsole offers enhances cushioning and light weight. Bring on the trail; bring on the rain!

Asics GT-2000 GTX Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

I am loving these! I normally run (20-25 miles per week) in Mizuno Wave Inspire shoes, as I need mild-moderate stability or I get shin splints. I also have really narrow heels, which Mizuno fits well for. However, my Inspires have no lining and I have numb toes below about 35°, so I needed warmer shoes. I got these two weeks ago and they have needed very little breaking in. I wore them today (22° and snowing in Chicago) and my feet were perfectly warm with regular running socks. These are slightly heavier than my Inspires, but have not slowed me down. The padded collar at the heel conforms to if your body, which is cool. With the heel lock in place, my heels do not slip. I usually wear a 9 in normal shoes, but wear a 10° in Mizuno because I have long toes. These fit the same. I would size up a whole size.

These runners were a great buy, but not perfect. My feet tend to get very cold when running in 40 degrees or less. These shoes are super toasty, but anything above 20 is almost too warm for them! I've gone through rain and puddles with dry feet. Biggest problem is that the right shoe rubs near the tongue and I can't get it to stop. I can only last about 3 miles before it is too irritating. I hope I can add miles on them as I wear them more. Heads up also that I had to size up a 1/2 size from my usual 9-1/2 in Asics. The 9-1/2 was way too tight and my toe hit the front. 10 fits just right. I had to go a 1/2 size up from my usual Asics size.

This shoe is awesome! So comfortable - light, waterproof and really gives me traction in all kinds of terrain. I can now run when it is snowing, raining lightly or after a hard rain without getting cold, wet feet. My knees appreciate the cushioning - keeps things low impact even when the ground is hard frozen.

Negative Reviews:

I love to run Asics for running, but I was very disappointed in this shoe. The are extremely hard and not comfortable. I worn them several times to break them in, but they are awful. I can't recommend them to anyone.
