I love the Gel Nimbus!! I have always worn the Gel Nimbus and will continue to do so!! At first I was concerned with the new design of the lacing system (some say it crosses the big toe). In fact, it does cross the big toe slightly; it is not just for looks as other reviews say. It helps distribute the weight as your feet hit the ground on your fore foot rather than on the outside of your foot. It is great for casual running! My only problem with the shoe is with the new lacing system, doing workouts on a track with this shoe is different. I purchased a pair of trainers to do track workouts in because of this. The new lacing system forces your foot out on the curves on a track, but the shoe is the best on the market for straight line running!! MUCH MUCH Lighter than the Kayano!!

These are the ABSOLUTE most wonderful shoes I've ever worn. The cushioning is perfect for me. I'm 5'11", 230lbs, and these things are awesome. I have high arches, so I use the SOLE Thin heat-moldable insoles, the Dean Karnazes signature ones, and this combination is truly unbelievable. Other shoes, using these same insole, would just have my feet hurting a little after every 30 minute run (which I thought was normal). My first run in these was 40 minutes with absolutely no pain, and the next day I went 50 minutes with no pain again. I'm now able to run so much that my legs hurt, but my feet feel great. I've read good things about the newer version (the 11), but I'm not going to try those for some time, I just ordered 2 spare pairs of the 10!

I\'ve owned the Nimbus 8, 9 and 10 and just ordered the 11. I did think the 9 had a bit more cushioning than the 10 but didn\'t see a big difference overall. This line of shoes, including the 10, are the best cushioned shoes I\'ve run in. They are not light and probably not great if you pronate significantly but for putting miles on or if you\'re heavy with a neutral stride, they are ideal. I\'ve put over 600 miles on my current pair with no significant wear to the uppers and light to moderate wear to the soles. They are now losing some cushioning but when I put on a pair of new trail shoes they still have more cushion than those. I do wear my own insoles as I prefer a firm arch support.

Very happy with purchase - Wanted the Gel-Nimbus 8, because the 8 worked for my son who deals with underpronation. But we can't find them in his size 15. So he is trying the Gel-Nimbus 10. So far he states that they feel great. I bought him a pair of Nike’s that was recommended for underpronation also. But he states that they rub the inside of his foot, and maybe with time he'll break them in. But he has no complaints with the Asics Gel Nimbus 10, went right to running. He's a Marine and he's 6'7" tall and about 220 pounds, so his shoes take a pounding. He's always happy with Asics. Legs & ankles don't hurt as much after running with these. Looks could be better but comfort is much more important.

I like it! I've put about 60 miles on my Nimbuses so far over the last few months, and I'm mostly happy. I think the sizing is a little off for me. My feet tend to hurt along the outside/bottom of the foot. I switched insoles and added a heal cushion and it helped, but I'm a definitely disappointed. On the plus side, they've really helped out my supination. They are light and have held up perfectly! Once you get used to the funky lacing, it really takes the pressure off the top of the foot. The "look" got marked down because you can only get the stock blue in wider widths. :( Zappos had an exclusive color I couldn't order.

Nice running shoes - I have been using Gel Nimbus running shoes for several years, and they are the best. I ordered the 10 from Zappos in my normal size 13. They seemed ok at first for treadmill running, about 20-30 miles total, although the toe area seemed narrower than the old pair of 9s I had. I then ran 1/2 marathon with these shoes and they rubbed a blister between my toes. I called Zappos and they (to my surprise) took the shoes back and sent me another pair 1/2 size bigger which are doing much better. All in all, a good shoe but consider getting wider and larger size than normal.

Why do they change them - I have run in Nimbus shoes for years and while overall, every model retains the overall fit and comfort, there have been two or three models that were superior in terms of cusioning and styling. So why do they keep changing them so often. Once they get a good cusioning styled high selling model they should keep making it and just change out the colors to give us runners some choice.

Great Shoe - Shoe has great support with excellent cushioning for the neutral runner. I recently upgraded from the Asics Cumulus that my local running store had put me in based on their analysis of my foot and running style. These were much more comfortable and felt better out of the box than the Asics Cumulus. Definitely worth the extra money to go up the next level. And the look is better as well.

ASIC GEL-NIMBUS 10 - Switched from the '9' to the '10' due to supination issues and this one is most definitely more comfortable. Most reviews don't mention this, and, it may only be my situation, but these are better for feet like mine that under-pronate (or, supinate). They can also hold my orthotics I just had fitted and now I wear them to work in at the clinic and walk in. Highly recommended.

These shoes are awesome. Super comfortable. I supinate while running, and these are great for stability. By far the best running shoe I've ever had, and I’ve been in the army for 12 years, so lots of running. I wear them with cargo shorts, too, when I'm out because they look cool, too. I usually wear an 11, but bought a 12 though.

I am a 195 lbs casual runner (15-25 miles week). My running is about half treadmill and half street, so I figured this shoe would be comfortable and last a while. Other than being a little narrower than expected in the heel (I wear a 10 2E), the fit was quite true to size and was comfortable. Unfortunately, after only 250-300 miles the sole is worn out and its time to replace them. It seems after whatever coating is on the sole is gone, the very soft rubber pretty much evaporates during every run. My previous experience with Asics (2100 series) was that they lasted about 400 miles which is about what I expected. Brooks lasted me about the same and Adidas lasted 450-500 miles. The reputation and price of these shoes lead me to believe they were going to be long lasting comfortable shoes. I am disappointed and will be going back to Adidas or Brooks.

Having owned and loved a pair of Nimbus 9, I thought the 10 would fit right in. Not so. The Asics plastic logo that runs into the mouth of the shoe (outside of shoe) is not properly padded so it causes blistering on the outside of the foot. I thought this issue was unique to my pair, but having checked other pairs they all have the same flaw. Must say though that the service at Zappos was impeccable as they did accept the shoe back after usage. Kudos to Zappos and Dinks to Asics. I have switched to the Mizuno Wave Rider 12 and have never felt better. Same amount of cushion/protection with less weight; can't go wrong there.

This is one of the worst running shoes I've ever purchased. I'm very disappointed because Asics have always proven reliable buys. This shoe is too soft. The cushion doesn't actually absorb enough of the shock to prevent me from bruising my sesamoid (the little knobby bone connecting your big toe to your foot). These shoes are uncomfortable to walk in much less run any distance. I had previous versions of this shoe but this one is almost a blasphemy of its heritage.

I had an old pair of Asics that were wonderfully comfortable but needed replacing. I couldn't remember which model they were, so after searching this website, I decided on the Gel Nimbus. Big mistake! They felt all right when I tried them on in my house, but when I wore them to go walking, the inside of my heel just killed! I thought maybe I just needed to break them in, but every time I wore them, I got the same pain and it never got better. I felt like I was walking on the inside of my foot the whole time. Definitely not the shoe for me!

Disappointed, but tolerable - Other reviewers have talked about the silver trim. It is indeed gaudy and unnecessary on a shoe of this caliber. However, for me the worst part is the seam that crosses your big toe. This was done for looks only. I was worried that I couldn't even use the shoe...and I still feel the seam on my left big toe after 30+ miles of walking/running. Poor design targeted at looks only. For the money, you can do better. And way too gaudy.
