Very comfortable hiking boot

I bought these boots for SAR work, and they are really very comfortable and give great traction and support in off-trail applications.

I tried on many pairs of boots and ultimately could not decide between a pair of leather Zamberlan's and these Asolo's, but Rock Creek's amazing price made up my mind in favor of these lovely boots. I am not at all dissappointed with my choice.

There was no break-in period, they are comfortable right out of the box. I wear a mid-weight wool hiking sock with silk liners, and have had no discomfort at all. During our last practice it rained very hard, and the boots kept my feet nice and dry.

So far, I heartily reccomend this product.

True to marketing & they look good too!

I bought my regular shoe size and I was/am determined to get every penny's worth of comfort and use out of these boots. Be sure not to lace them too tightly in the toe area- if you do you'll find that they press horribly directly atop your toes with each step. I was so glad to discover that simple fix. They are very light and breathable. After several miles, my feet were still cool. In the rain and puddles - completely dry too. Still breaking them in, they feel a little tight in the toes but I tried on a half size larger and that was just too much boot. Overall pleased. Hoping to break in fully before Fall

great if the shoe fits

Hiking boots do not fit the same on everyone, personally I like these. They are my second pair and I use them for backpacking. The boots have excellent ankle support and have tough soles which makes them stiff but unlike other boots with flexible soles I dont have to feel every rock underneath me. They are waterproof and seem to hold up well. One thing these boots are know for is being lightweight so dont expect a lot of padding. I have considered replacing the insoles with some cushion but have hiked over 13 miles a day in these and it hasn't bothered me yet. They are true to size dont buy a half size up in these

Great boots, though some traction issues

I really like these boots. I have wide feet, and these were the only ones that fit without pinching anywhere (I was able to wear them straight out of the box with no problems). I would say they're perfect, except for the traction issue. Very good traction when on a dry surface; however, I had traction problems on wet surfaces (wet leaves, wet rocks, moss growing on rocks). Other than that, excellent boots. Also, the price at Rock Creek was by far the lowest, and I did a lot of comparison shopping.

Super Comfy

I bought these boots in Gunmetal/Graphite, and they are a great looking hiking boot. The colour is a bit different from the picture on the website, the blue is more of a sky blue. These are a really comfy, plenty of support for my ankles when carrying a heavy backpack,I also find them to be really light. Wouldn't recommend wearing them in the wintertime, my feet get pretty cold!

Great Boot

Bought this boot for my wife. After our first overnight trip, she absolutely loved them. Very comfortable right out of the box. They fit true to size and she had no issues whatsoever. They replaced a pair of her North Face boots and there is no comparison in the quality of this boot compared with it. Great buy.

comfortable

these boots are very comfortable, i have a narrow foot and they fit me well. they kept my feet dry and warm! i have poor circulation so keeping my feet warm is a serious thing. hiked in them all day and felt good. feet did not hurt at all. recommend them highly.

Great Buy!

My wife just wore these boots for the first time. After owning a pair of North Face boots, she claims there is really no comparison in the comfort of the Asolos. They fit true to size and require very little by the way of break in. Highly recommended.

Amazing Boots!

These boots are awesome! They require very little break-in time and just fit my foot quite well.

If these aren't any better then the Stynger...

I got the Stynger and At the expense of these boots they should hold up alot better and longer then they do..the toe of mine came loose from the sole not even a year after purchase...I tacked it back down with Gorilla glue..then the other one did the same. It's too bad, cause they are comfortable, lightweight, and traction is excellent! Breathability is awesome also...I'm still wearing them as the Gorilla Glue holds up better then the boot itself! They might be ok for the occasional hike, but for everyday rigours you might find a better pair.
