| Looking for a lighter alternative to my Koflach Vertecals for the dozen or more trips I lead up Mt. Washington each winter I tried a few different synthetic climbing boots. These fit my foot just like my old comfy Asolo 535's, and kept my feet plenty warm while on the move. I do have warm feet to begin with, so I wouldn't recommend them for anyone who has a hard time staying warm in the winter. From the Lion's Head trail, to steep ice routes at Lake Willoughby, these have exceeded my expectations. I am considering buying a second pair to keep in the closet for when I wear these out just in case they stop making them! [...] | |

| The first thing you notice about the Cholatses is the craftmanship. These are high quality boots. Mine were right on today, first day out on ice. I was pleasantly surprised with the insulation (a classic Quebec -15C was no problem). They are also really light, and hey they look good too. Good performance, good purchase. | |

| my first alpine boot, I think that I lucked out and got a great boot at a good price. Well suited for long approaches and excellent with crampons. As of yet I've not tested it in extreme cold conditions, so far so good. A very well made high quality boot | |
