ATN Thermal Imaging Scopes -
Thermal imaging penetrates total darkness, dust, smoke and fog, delivering easy-to-recognize heat signatures for a clear battlefield advantage. All objects, both natural and man-made, emit infrared energy as heat. The ATN Thermal, using a proven 320 x 240 microbolometer core and a high-resolution OLED microdisplay, detects and displays invisible IR wavelengths, and their thermal differences form an astounding see-in-the-dark image. Encased in the scope’s compact yet full-metal body, the large germanium input lens, with high luminosity, exceptional visual angles and a wide field of view, helps detect activity at distances up to 1,350 meters. Other features include: internal windage and elevation adjustment, video input and output, digital zoom, digital operating control with direct button access, manual image refresh, quick startup, two-color manual brightness controlled reticle. Up to eight hours of operation with four included CR-123A batteries. Includes a quick-release Picatinny rail, lens tissue, soft carry case and instruction manual. Made in USA.
The finest thermal imaging scopes available to the general public. With all digital controls, they NEVER allow your reticle to move off base. Vivid color reticles superimpose your aiming point on your target through darkness, fog, and smoke. Menu functions include reticle type and color selection; windage and elevation adjustment. Picatinny rail quick-release mount. Enhanced models offer 60 hz imaging rate for more frames per second and more precise motion representation. Standard models feature 30 hz imaging rate. Uses three 3V lithium batteries (included).

Incredible night vision equipment

The best night vision equipment I've had the experience of using. It is far superior to regular night vision devises that just multiply availiable light. Infrared actually sees the heat signature of an object. If you have any doubts, do a search on Youtube for comparison. The only draw back I have found is that you can not see through glass ...and these things are expensive!

works at night, but not during the day

I bought this scope primarily for helping me spot large game in the large range areas of Montana, Idaho and Utah. Hoping to be able to spot game from 500-1000 yards away while they are camo'd in the brush. This device did not work well for that. I did have a thermal read on the landscape, but it didn't differentiate a deer, fox or grouse from the trees and rocks. I even tested it much closer range and it still didn't differentiate enough. It showed the outline of the animal, but only after I knew where it was. That being said, if the "animal" was close enough for you to see it moving then you could recognize it, alternatively if you were in the pitch dark (which I don't really do, but did test) it looked identical to if it was daylight, proving that it really is reading the thermal image and not the light image. If you were pig hunting at 200yds or less in TX or something like that, this would fit great on the front of your red-dot AR (it has a built in mount for a picatiny rail) but for the large open spaces of the NW, this just didn't cut it. I'm currently testing another device specifically made for long range spotting from FLIR and it's working much better for my needs
