Attwood 750gph pump

I bought this to use in a 16 ft skiff that I leave in the water. The boat does not have scuppers so I needed something to pump out standing water, particularly rain. So far it has worked great. When it turns on a very strong stream of water is pumped out draining most of the water in the boat very quickly. I say most of the water because I had to mount the pump on a heavy board so it would not float and to keep it level so it sits about 1 1/2 inches above the lowest point. Also, it needs to be mounted to something because when it turns on the motor is strong enough to knock the pump over making it useless. The water left in the boat does not cause a problem and can be bailed easily. I rigged it to the battery so it can be plugged and unplugged easily.

excellent product

I had bought this pump 4 years ago use in my bass boat. The boat remains in the water 6 months of the year. Pump works great and have never had it fail. The built in auto pump feature takes less space and has yet to fail. Dont know many pumps that still work great after 4 years never letting me down. Cant say enough about this great product.
No I dont work for the manufacturer but just a happy consumer

Great little pump

Being used as a secondary pump located forward. Great little pump that moves & lifts water very well. Really haven't found any downside.

Good solid product but I wish they would note that you need a 3 way switch to operate it.

Works well

I bought this as a direct replacement for my shower sump. Installed easily and works as advertised.

Negative Reviews:

pump doesn't work

I replaced an old attwater pump that worked for 15 years with this one. The mounting is different so had to start from scratch. Pump turns on but won't cut off. After a whole day of fiddling with it and remounting it 5 times, I figured out that the float is not heavy enough to turn off the pump switch when all the water is gone. It would probably work on a moving boat where the vibration of the boat would get it to work, but at dock or on the trailer the pump would run until the battery goes dead. Bad design

Not reliable

On automatic the float does not cause the contact switch to activate until you shake it. My boat swamped during the night because of this. The bilge was clean and there were no obstructions that would cause this except for defective engineering. I took it out and bought a different brand.

Won't turn off once activated.

I've bought two so far - very disappointed. Once they turn on they won't turn off. Ran the battery flat.
