Used These For EightYears of Hard Riding

I just bought another pair after 8 years of riding these pads. They still don't really need to be replaced according to the wear indicators but I'm replacing all my cables, chain, etc. so I thought it was time for new pads. The other review about noise is weird. I've never heard a sound from my brake pads. He/she probably doesn't have them installed right. I've been on some steep, steep stuff requiring lots of braking and they've been great.

Negative Reviews:

very noisy

I haven't had to make any hard, panic stops, nor used them in the rain. These pads are extremely noisy when slowing or stopping under minimal stress -- like riding downhill. The Tektro and Kool-Stop pads I've used in the past were fine. I won't use these again.
