If you're looking to get the most out of your time on the trail, you'll need a comfortable helmet. In other words, you need a helmet like the Azonic Exile Helmet. It has 21 vents that keep you cool, a removable liner for easy cleaning, and a dial-based retention system that allows you to fine-tune the fit. So, you'll be cool, comfortable, and most importantly, protected.
While we hope that we never have to test the protection aspect of a helmet's attributes, we're constantly confronted on a helmet's level of comfort. A major contributing factor to a helmet's comfort is its ventilation. After all few things will ruin a ride faster than overheating. Accordingly, Azonic built the Exile helmet with 21 vents, so you'll stay cool instead of roasting. They're not just haphazardly thrown on there either. In fact, the vents at the front of the helmet are designed to pull air in, and the vents out back serve as an exhaust for the hot air radiating off of your scalp. Speaking of which, the removable padded liner makes freshening up your helmet a walk in the park. And there's a removable visor to keep the sun out of your eyes, because being able to see the trail is obviously imperative.
The whole point of a helmet is to be protected, right? And a helmet wouldn't be protective unless it fits correctly. That's why the Exile features an easily adjustable retention system. It uses a dial for adjustment, rather than the push-shut ratchets found on other helmets. So, you'll only need one hand to make sure that you get the perfect fit.
The Azonic Exile Helmet is available in the sizes Small/medium and Large/X-large and in the colors Flat Black, Toxic, Schizo, and White/black.
Here's the thing, this is a great looking helmet, the Schizo graphics option looks sharp, its something different without trying too hard. The straps are kind of different since they feature the Azonic logo all over them, again, different. I was a little disappointed to see that the hard shell doesn't extend to the base of the helmet, you can see in the photos that this area is essentially bare, a little disappointing but for the price I figured it was worth a try.
Helmet arrived at my doorstep but despite using the sizing chart and measuring my head this helmet is laughably small! I mean comically. I wear a 58-60cm helmet for both my bicycling and motorcycle helmets so I was surprised by this Azonic, it is so small I could barely get it on my head and even then it was obviously too small and the harness was way out of place. Its a real shame since I was really looking forward to this helmet, be forewarned, this helmet will not fit you if you wear a size large in any other helmet brand. Maybe it was just mine but I checked the invoice, the box and the helmet and they all confirmed the size. So, lesson learned, way too small.
