Backpacker's Pantry Biscuits and Gravy -
INGREDIENTS: Biscuit mix (bleached wheat flour with barley flour [enriched with niacin, reduced iron, thiamine mononitrate and riboflavin], partially hydrogrnated soybean oil, leavening [sodium bicarbonate], whey, sugar, salt, soy flour, dextrose, corn syrup solids, sodium caseinate, mono and diglycerides), gravy (flour, nonfat milk, cream [sweet cream, lecithin, tocopherols and ascorbyl palmitate (added to improve stability), textured vegetable protein [soy flour, caramel color, partially hydrogenated soybean oil, salt, hydrogenated corn gluten-soy-wheat gluten protein, autolyzed yeast], arrowroot powder, corn starch, chicken base (salt, beef stock, sugar, vegetable stock, corn starch, maltodextrin, chicken stock], natural flavorings (hydrolyzed corn protein, salt), natural butter flavor, modified food starch, black pepper, hickory smoke powder (maltodextrin, smoke flavor).
- In a separate container, combine biscuit mix packet with 1/2 cup (120 mL) of water. Stir until well mixed
- Once gravy boils, add biscuit dough by spoonfuls. You should get 4-6 biscuits.
- Serve hot with gravy ladled over the biscuits
- Cover pot, reduce heat to low and simmer for 6-8 minutes until biscuits are done.
