Great so far

So I recently purchased these boots a few weeks ago and have used them everyday for the winter weather in Chicago. I originally bought these because of my lab. She likes to go out and run around in the field and I don't typically like to lace up my boots and have to risk getting them wet since I also wear them around town. These are great for slipping on and so great that I've been wearing them for probably three weeks straight. Unfortunaely there is no insulation liner. But thats ok, Ive worn them with a thin layer of long songs similar to an athletic sock and then a mountaineering sock onto and they are pretty comfortable for me in around 10 degrees F. Since there is no liner however, when you walk through snow and it sits on the rubber you can definitely feel the heat escape from your feet after awhile. But if you walk into a warm area you are fine. To address my faults with this shoe being a little wide and bad traction, I need to elaborate. First the size was annoying at first because I haven't had rain boots since I was in first grade and it was unusual to get used to the not to fit feeling. But it is perfect for layering socks in there as well as having your jeans stuffed to the bottom. Also if you wear these out and its real cold you can stuff one of those hand warmer pads in the bottom to keep your toes warm. Also the traction is great for muddy rough terrain. However, if you walk on anywhere slick such as rocks or certain indoor floors, you can very easily slip and have to catch yourself. Overall this is a great boot and I would recommend everyone looking at it to give it a shot. Its a great price made by our friendly neighbors to the north so it can't be that bad. Also I can't justify spending 3x (literally) more on a pair of hunter boots. Also just an advisory, these do scuff around the shaft especially if you're sitting a bar stool and touch your boots together. But who cares, it looks cooler anyways.

excellent rain boots

If you spend a lot of time outdoors during Western Oregon's winters, then you are well-acquainted with rain, and the misery it can bring if you aren't appropriately attired. I can't count the number of times I sloshed around in wet shoes and boots for hours on end after getting drenched in a cold November downpour, wishing that I had gotten a pair of those goofy "fisherman's boots" that bicycle commuters and city workers wear. So I shopped around and found these.

There isn't a whole lot to say about them. You're not going to go jogging or hiking with them, let alone wear them out to dinner. They are thick, rugged, uninsulated rubber boots with an aggressive tread and enough room inside to wear heavy socks for colder weather. Mud and dirt have no effect on them. You can wade into foot-deep puddles next to the clogged storm drains without a care in the world. Barring aesthetic considerations, what's not to love?

Basic but superior quality

I discovered these boots after going through several pairs of thinner, less durable competitors. Theses last much longer. They are cracking after the third year of daily use. However, they still do not leak. I just ordered a new pair. The one criticism I have relates to the tread pattern. I have a gravel driveway & the tread picks up gravel every time I walk on it, which have to continually pick out of the soles. Others have good traction patterns without this issue. The other reviewer's comments about the boots folding over at the ankle is not accurate, based upon my experience.

A High Quality Boot

These are great boots to wear in wet weather conditions. I have worn them for days on end when the weather required it, and I plan on wearing them a lot through rough weather at work throughout the winter. Paired with a good set of rain pants, these ensure that the bottom half of your body stays dry no matter what the weather is throwing at you.

I did underestimate how nice insulation would be on a pair of boots like this, but that's nothing a thick pair of socks can't help.C

Work Great

I use this boot around home mainly in the winter since they are easy to slip on ond off quickly. We get a lot of snow here in Michigan and they work great for shoveling snow and getting outside around the house for winter chores or in wet weather. These boots work as they are advertised, a great boot to have around the house for quick winter treks outdoors.

They work

They are great for sloshing around in the creek. I can finally keep up with my kids. Worked great for wading into and draining the small pond that had formed on our street when the drain clogged during the heavy downpour the other day. Have only worn a couple of times.

They may not be pretty, but they work.

I live in a remote Alaskan village with no paved streets. If there is moisture, there is mud. It is a mile one way to the local solid waste disposal site. These boots have kept my feet dry, relatively warm and relatively comfortable on this two mile trek.

Great Boots!!

I bought these boots for my husband for when we take our dog to the beach in the winter. He is very picky and he LOVES these boots. He says they are warm, dry and comfortable. They are very sturdy. Highly recommend!

Negative Reviews:

Rubber disintegrates after four months

The outer rubber on these boots will start disintegrating and cracking after only about four or five months. But the worst thing is the boots will fold over in the ankle region, creating a permanent crease in the boot that will dig into your ankle causing pain.
These boots are not durable enough to be heavy duty work boots, they may be O.K. for someone who only uses them occasionally.
