Barnes Expander Mz And Spit Fire Mz And Tmz Reviews:

Barnes= smackdown

I used the 300 grain Expander last season to take a nice late-season doe with 90 grains of loose Pirodex. I shot the deer at about 70 yards and after the shot I assumed a miss as I didn't see the deer run away or hear anything at all for that matter. After following up a few yards I noticed the deer dead where it stood. The bullet had entered high in the lungs and exited slightly lower as I was slightly elevated when I shot. The exit wound was about the size of a 1/2 dollar. Field dressing revealed that both lungs where totally destroyed as well as most of the top of the heart. Good penetration + reliable expansion + 100% weight retention = venison every time. Try em out, you will NEVER go back to Powerbelts.

My all-time favorite deer bullet

The last five deer I've shot with my muzzleloader have been taken with Barnes 50 cal. Expander MZ bullets, both 250 gr. and 300 gr. Two were shot at a distance of 200+ yards away. All five of them never took more than a couple of steps before dropping, no tracking involved, and the bullet always plowed completely through the deer. These Expander MZ's are the best hunting bullet I've ever seen.

Finally, a GREAT muzzle loading bullet.

I have used them all and always had the problem of the bullet not expanding well and not penetrating all the way through the deer. Thus, having almost lost three deer, one a 12-pointer, from the lack of a blood trail; I tried these bullets and they do a great job. I have never seen a bullet that does such a great job. From now on, I'll never use another bullet.
