Bass Lewis Plain Moc Type Loafer - The Bass Lewis Moc Type Loafer - is a true classic that has been brought back to life. While attending high school during the 1970s dress codes were strict, and just about all students wore penny or plain moc type loafers. I had a pair of penny loafers, and wore moc type loafers as a second pair of shoes. I still wear penny loafers to this date. As school dress codes became relaxed, sneakers became the footwear of choice. Due to declining demand, the plain moc type loafer was discontinued by footwear manufactures. The Bass moc loafer is a comfortable and clean looking shoe that goes great with dress or casual type clothes. Like a penny loafer, it slips off & on with ease. If you like penny loafers, I believe you will really like these shoes. I did find however, these shoes run approximately one half size larger than listed. I would highly recommend Zappos. The service was excellent; these shoes were delivered to my door, the next day after ordering.

I am a pretty competitive runner. The number one set back with this shoe is its durability. When the shoe gets around 200-250 miles I feel they are pretty much shot and I dont weigh that much at all. They are good for a neutral runner and have decent forefoot cushioning. I'm a forefoot striker. The people with flat feet writing reviews for this shoe shouldnt be wearing a neutral shoe period. There is no arch support in this shoe. It's completely neutral with a lot of flexibility in the mid foot. I wouldnt recommend this shoe to someone with a flat foot.

Ordered the shoe about 6PM Thursday and had at my door 11AM Friday. Happy with the style; classic Venetian loafers are difficult to find. As others have noted the finish has sort of an almost patent look and is relatively hard. I wear a 10 EEE in loafers and this is what I ordered and the fit is true to size.

Good Shoe - I am pleased with the overall quality of the shoe. The look is what I expected and the sizing was as expected. I wear an EEE width and often I find shoes that are marked EEE to be narrow. The Bass shoes are sized properly and the widths are as they should be.

I wear these as dress shoes at work. They have an almost patent leather finish that looks great, but can be stiff to break in. Based on my previous experience with a similar Bass model. The finish also tends to crack with heavy wear, but I feel I got my money's worth.

Wide and comfortable shoes - They look nice, very American style. I buy American shoes by internet because you have not only have different sizes as in Europe, but different widths too. Very important for me.

The classic loafer, these are great to kick around in, and have enough style to be worn to work as well. I actually like these better than the Johnston Murphys, I think the value is better.

Solid Loafers - These shoes seem to be a good value. They are comfortable and convenient which is why I bought loafers in the first place.

My husband absolutely loves these shoes! They look adorable on him, and they're a gorgeous, rich shade of burgundy.

Not a foul weather shoe - Good shoes, but the soles leak water through the bottom stitch seams.
