Beal Diablo UniCore 10.2mm x 60m Non-Dry Rope Reviews:

Not satisfied

I will admit that this was my first rope, but for a first rope, I was not happy. I have gone climbing with a lot of my friends and I get jealous of their ropes after using this one. It frays very quickly and I have had some people comment on some of the sheath damage. I have only used it for about 5 months now for weekend climbing. When rappelling, the rope twists a lot. The rope is also very dirty, and hard to clean, I have cleaned it twice now and it still has lost almost all of its color and still turns the belayer's hands black. I have taken one lead fall on it but have no way of comparing that to anything as that is the only lead fall I have taken. It slides through the ATC nicely just so long as all of the twists have been taken out. I'm not very happy with this rope. I bought it because it was cheap.

Cool idea, bad rope

Between the price and Beal's new award-winning Unicore technology, I thought this would be a great rope. Heck, it even comes with a rope bag and a mat. However, after only one month of weekend use, the sheath was already beginning to fray considerably while I had been doing my best to protect it from any rough surfaces. The rope also gets twisted much more often than others, which made me very nervous a couple of times repelling. Even while using the mat, it also seemed like the rope absorbed a lot of dirt for the short amount of time I used it, which may further reduce it's integrity. I quickly lost my piece of mind while using this. In the end, I returned this product after one month of use.
